I'll say this for Galarian Meowth; They sure can run.
After we'd gotten out of the Wooloo fields and made it to the main city of Turffield, we had decided to take a train into Wyndon to see the sights of the big city, and see the stadium where we would be battling the Champion. It was even bigger and more magnificent than the pictures Father showed me.
An eye-poppingly hot pink color, the Wyndon Stadium was shaped like a rose, assumingly built by the Chairman's company, Macro Cosmos. It was gorgeous, with huge crowds hanging around outside it. Men and women of all ages, Trainers and regular citizens were gathered around, taking pictures or buying souvenirs from the stands outside the stadium. There were a few suspicious people in obnoxious pink and black uniforms with hair to match hanging around, and I decided to avoid them after a few League Staff came over and told them to stop blowing their horns; whatever that meant.
Then, we walked over to a giant Ferris wheel and rode it all the way to the top. The city skyline stretched out for miles in every direction, and I sighed in contentment. "You know, the woods are great, but there's something so fantastic about a cityscape," I smiled, gazing down at the tiny people milling around below us. "Yeah," Meowsie agreed, clambering onto my shoulders to get a better look. Espeon was whimpering in the corner, afraid to peek over the side and see how high up we were.
Afterwards, we checked into the hotel we'd be staying in for the night, getting the chance to finally set our bags down, and I ditched the cast. My foot might have been weak, but I was already feeling better; besides, being weakened would give X the advantage, and there was no way I was going to let him think I was crippled. It only took a few minutes of walking on it to get used to the weight on it.
When we exited the hotel, we saw the Galarian Meowth hanging around the outskirts of the block. They immediately fell for Meowsie, and chased us all around Wyndon. They even followed us into Rose Tower!
"Man, those Meowth sure can run," I panted after we'd lost them.
"Really? Those guys had nothing on me," Meowsie said proudly.
"Yeah, because you were riding on my shoulder the whole time!"After we outran the Galarian Meowth and bought some ice cream to restore our energy, we made our way downtown, where the buildings towered over us and seemed to touch the sky. There were huge screens displaying fashion models, food and drinks, even Pokemon! We went inside a clothing shop and spent a good hour browsing around. I bought a whole new outfit to go with my new disguise. Interesting fact: walking around with a huge 'R' on your shirt is seen as 'weird' by the locals.
I now wore a cream sweater and a pastel pink miniskirt, with some white nylon stockings underneath. I still didn't ditch my silver Converse, even if it clashed horribly with my new look. Then, with accessorizing, I didn't go too crazy, but Meowsie insisted on getting some pearl studs and a cute pink beret to match. I didn't argue. After all, I'd already sacrificed some pocket money to buy some loose shorts and a black, long-sleeved compression shirt. I mean, come on; I wasn't about to throw my sense of style and efficient clothing options completely out the window.
Exiting the shop, I felt exhilarated. Now, in Galar, I could be anything, anyone. I could run away with the circus, or join a bike gang. I wasn't Gia; I was a nothing, a clean slate. New friends, new memories and new enemies were to be made, and there wasn't a moment to lose.
"I feel so refreshed. It's a wonder what a shopping trip can do to a girl. How about you, Meowsie?" I asked, turning to where she had been sitting on my shoulder. Strangely, she wasn't there. A cold feeling of dread started to set in. "Meowsie?" I asked, turning a full 360. She wasn't anywhere to be seen. "Meowsie!" I called, walking down the street. Then, I heard shrieks and the sound of 'My watch was just stolen!'.
I took off in the direction of the calamity.
