Yua was watching a beast devour its prey, quite literally. The way Jaime ate always reminded her of a great lioness gnawing at its food until every single speck of meat was demolished. She even cleaned the bones. It could have been repulsive to Yua and under any other circumstances, with anyone else, it would be.

Even when Carrie gorged herself on whatever food lay before her, she did it more tastefully than Jaime, and Carrie was the sole definition of a slob. Everyone knew it. However, Jaime was quite the sight to behold. Completely aware of Yua watching her, she didn't bat an eyelash and continued consuming her steak, cooked medium with just the right amount of pink apparently.

Something about it captivated Yua to the point her own delicious waffles lay forgotten, getting colder by the minute. Not that she really planned on eating much of them anyways.

Or perhaps, it was the fact that she couldn't get that kiss out of her head. The feel of Jaime's lips on her throat. Just what had come over her? She wasn't even a sexual being, or at least she thought she wasn't, but in that moment she just needed Jaime. All of her she could have. And Jamie's willingness, no, her over eagerness to comply was quite the startling revelation.

To be frank, Yua would have been fine if Jaime had declined her request. No, that was wrong too. She would not have been fine with it at all. Not with this attraction, which she was finally able to admit was there, growing by the second. In fact, in light of recent events and with years of not even wanting the physical contact, Yua would have been in agony had Jaime not returned her feelings.

That being said, what exactly were her feelings toward Jaime and what were Jamie's toward her? If she asked, would Jaime find her too childish? Too juvenile? Too inexperienced?

Jaime glanced up at her right at that moment and another thing was sealed into Yua's mind. She had been wrong a lot lately. That was something to which she was not accustomed. Not. One. Bit.

Jaime grinned, as if somehow deciphering what Yua's scowl meant, then chuckled. "What? I got food on my face again?"

"Again? So, I was right in deducing these are your typical eating habits?"

"Possibly." Those dimples were back in play and Jaime sent her a wink. Yua knew she was blushing and for once, she let herself feel it, all of it, and it felt really, very good. "It's not like you haven't seen me eat before. But this was a really damn great steak and you didn't answer my question."

"No food that I can see," Yua glanced up and down her face, then bit the inside of her cheek so as not to smile. "But plenty of dimples."

Jaime appeared just as surprised as Yua was with her own words. She flashed Yua a wide grin, then dipped her head to take her last bite, but froze with it just outside her mouth. She smiled and held it out for Yua.

Shaking her head, Yua said, "Absolutely not. I don't eat steak. Can't."

"What? Who the fuck can't eat steak?"

"People on diets."

Jaime leaned around the table and unashamedly scanned along Yua's body, making every inch surveyed with those hungry eyes feel alive. Jaime was definitely a lioness and Yua felt to be her latest prey. Jaime sat up straight and grimaced, clearly befuddled.

"Why?"

Yua sighed and tapped her fingers along the table top, not liking where this conversation had gone. "Generally speaking, people aren't meant to ask why another is on a diet. It's seen as impolite. Not that my reason behind it isn't more than obvious."
