you were what gave grown men nightmares.
what caused trees to bend and shake.
stronger than the ocean tides pulled by the moon herself.
what caused earthquakes to shift land by colliding plates.
the creases in your skin from sleeping in.
well i was the ocean half past midnight and you were the moon, pulling me back in.
only to send me rushing back to land that next morning.
or maybe you were those earthly plates and i was the trees once standing strong.
you shifted under my feet and i dropped like flies on windowsills.
i can't tell anymore, because i grew lost in those creases from bedsheets on your porcelain skin.
