015. CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT. ೄྀ࿐
Walking home from school I kind of felt everyone eyes on me. I walked to my doorstep and saw a shoebox on my doorstep. "You got one too?" Mikey said as he walked up to me. I nodded and opened the shoebox and saw a note. Before I opened the note I looked back at Mikey with a concerned look. As I opened the note I quickly dropped it on the ground with the shoebox. The note read —
"This is his blood, you killed him! Everyone got this tape. So watch it together if all I care. Everyone meet up at Nolani's house. I mean she is the one with a VCR — goodbye."
I heard footsteps walk up behind me and it was Ross, coming home from school but he also brought Addilyn, Camari, Eric, and Lai. "You guys got the—"
Mikey said as he was cut off by Lai. "Yes we did." She walked up to me and pulled me towards her and hugged me tight. "I'm glad you're okay, baby." I hugged Lai back and smiled. "So we're playing the tape or what?" Addilyn said.I guided them to my room and inserted the tape in the VCR. The tape started to play.

We all sat there in silence as Ross ran to our garage to see if she was there. Lai went with him and she screamed.
My breathing was intensifying, I ran to the garage with the others. My hands started shaking — "Lani, call the police! Now!" Camari said. It's like I heard her, but I didn't. Her voice faded, and eventually I fainted.
I woke up hearing police questioning Camari and Ross, who i'm guessing stayed with me after I fainted. "Guys..." I said with a little rasp in my voice. "Oh, Nolani great to have you back." The officer said as he walked out my house. I asked Ross and Camari what happened — "We told them about her, and he was asking us questions about it all. Everything else just — "he said he'll handle it." Camari said as she finished the sentence for Ross. What are they going to do, I asked. "Who knows." Ross replied.
As time passed, we all got alerts from our town. The polices were cutting off everything to the southside. They couldn't get to us, and we couldn't get to them. They had nothing anymore, from water — to food. Police sirens were going on all throughout the town. I ran outside, and Ross drove us to the southside. We observed the site and saw the people on the southside trying to fight the police from blocking everything out.
Part of me felt bad because deep down I knew not all of them were bad, but I couldn't help but think about what and the people that came from the southside. I saw the kids and the parents looking at us, all the families. Until, Ross dragged me back to his car and we drove out the southside together.
When I turned on the news the mayor made the following statement.
The southside of this town, has brought nothing but death, terror, and violence. This is why our police department is making these choices, and we are going through with it. We are taking immediate precautions, for our citizens here in Gizemdale. We will get through this together. No more running. The peace of our town starts now! Don't worry about them getting to your phones, we've blocked everything they could possibly have that came from us.
So do we just forget about everyone else, the southside people in this town. Ross I know you sane families. I know you did! "It's always been like this. The southside has never had anything, we was always belittled when it came to comparisons to the northside. Just get used to it." I stared staring at our mayor on the tv screen, and walked off to my room.
When I laid my head down on my pillow, I thought about everything that happened. All the problems that haven't been solved. This isn't the right way — but to them whatever is silencing the bad guys is a solution to them. Oh yeah, welcome back to the real Mysterydale.
