The news of Epel's attack spread quickly like fire, and soon all students and members of staff were aware. Crowley and his fellow colleagues have no choice but to tighten the safety measures.
The curfew time was changed to eight-thirty, and all afterschool activities were put on hiatus. Dinner would now be room services provided by ghosts, meaning students would be eating inside their own dorms. Every day at eight-forty five all dorm leaders must gather their students in their lounges and carry out a roll call to make sure all students have returned to their dorms. Students were forbidden to go to other dorms during the evening unless they got permission from Crowley himself.
Two days after he nearly drowned, Epel was interrogated by the police, with Vil and Crowley accompanying him.
"Hello, Mr Felmier. No need to be nervous. Just tell us everything you see and know. If you need anything, like a glass of water, or feel unwell, let us know," said the police man politely.
"Yes, sir. I want those people to be caught as soon as possible, so they won't be able to hurt anyone further," replied Epel. Vil patted on his shoulder.
"We shall start then. On March 3rd, at approximately four-thirty, you were walking along the hallway towards the laboratory of Pomefiore dorm, am I correct?"
"Yes. And then I saw two people attempting to break into the lab. Normally no one would go there during that time, so I immediately realized they were after the night stone,"
"Understood. What happened next?"
"I tried to stop them, but one of them grabbed me, and the two ran to the men's bathroom. The other one filled the sink with water and then attempted to drown me," Epel shivered as he explained.
"Got it. Do you remember the appearances of the two attackers?"
Epel went into deep thought.
"I clearly remembered the woman who attempted to drown me. She had long, curly navy blue hair and slanted violet eyes. She was wearing a black face mask too. For clothing, a maroon jacket with matching sports trousers, as well as red nail polish. Her height...I guess she's no more than 170cm,"
Upon hearing this, Vil and Crowley gasped and exchanged looks.
"It couldn't be her, isn't it?" mumbled Vil.
"I hope not," replied Crowley.
"What was that, Mr Schoenheit?" asked the police man.
"Oh, nothing."
The police man then turned back to face Epel.
"Ok. How about the other one?"
"The other one...I'm not so sure. She was wearing a face mask too, and a hood, so I couldn't see their face nor her hairstyle...but I'm pretty sure she's a woman, and she's taller than the other attacker,"
"I see. Is there anything you would like to add?"
"Yes. I heard them talking about Ace, the one who got stabbed last week, as well as...a group. I wasn't sure what they meant when they said that, but I assume they're working for an organization,"
"Alright. That means they're also responsible for Mr Trappola's attack," the police man said as he wrote his notebook. "Thank you for your cooperation. If you remember anything related, please do not hesitate to give us a call or come to the station.
"No problem," said Epel. He then left the police station with Crowley and Vil.
"Would you like to stop by the cafe and have some coffee or tea before returning to school?" asked Crowley.
