Agad akong napatayo sa sofa nang dumating na sa wakas ang kanina ko pa hinihintay ng ilang oras.

"Tsk. Akala ko hindi ka na naman pupunta rito," I commented, making him gaze upon me fully.

My eyebrow archs when I realize that there is something off about him. He's serious, but at the same time, tulala. It's as if he just saw a ghost on his way here.

"Uhm. Yeah?" he replied, still dazed.

"Axon, I have to tell you something. You can't stay here any longer - -"

"Is it because of the issue about us?" he asked, making me shake my head.

"I don't mind that matter at all." I sighed. "But, I'll be gone for good. So, you can't be here while I'm gone."

"And where are you going supposedly?"

"Centrus City. Work," I uninterestingly replied.

Horror registered on his serious face, making his white skin even paler. A kind of reaction from him I did not expect.

"Centrus?! Why does it have to be Centrus?" he exclaimed, flabbergasted.

"And why not?"

"I mean, Centrus...is beyond your control. You can't control the things that might commence there."

"Axon, there is a chain murder incidents happening in that place as we speak, that's why I'm going there. And for your info, I don't control things, I find answers, and then bring justice using those answers."

"Can you not ---"

"Okay ka lang!? You keep on saying a lot of stuff, but the thing is, I don't ask for your opinion. And why would you react like that anyway?"

Napaayos siya ng tayo at mukhang nahimasmasan na sa kanyang pinagsasasabi. He closed his eyes, and the moment he opens them, I saw a hint of warning.

I smirked, then sat again on the sofa. I crossed my legs and look at him seriously.

"Tell me, Axon, why were you so horrified when I mentioned Centrus earlier?" I asked like an arrow.

Halatang nagulat siya sa naging tanong ko. And in an instant, he's back to his serious and emotionless face. No emotion, no expression, nothing. The usual face of Axon I knew...or do I really know him?

"I-ts...just that...I heard unpleasant things about that place."

"And where did you hear those?"

"Somewhere. From random people."

"Even if it is, then what ground are you standing, for you to care much about me going there? You're not even...my friend to be considered. It's either you have a crush on me...or you're hiding something connected to Centrus City...or both."

He gulped, losing words to say, making me grin.

"Have you been to Centrus, Axon?"

Baka nakakalimutan niya, kaharap niya ngayon si Detective Seven, and nothing escapes from my interrogation when I find a cause to do so.

"It's both." He seriously replied, making my eyes grew bigger.

Both? Does he mean- - -

Napangiwi ako nang bigla siyang tumawa. Napapailing pa siya at hindi makapaniwalang tumingin sa akin.

"You should've seen your face, detective. It's epic. Siguro...akala mo crush talaga kita noh?" he teasingly asked.

I cleared my throat, trying to save myself from humiliation. I smiled sweetly, but deep inside, I'm already dissecting this son of a bitch.
