(BB)
Three weeks! It's been three weeks since my bae had left for the Middle East, and I heard nothing, absolutely nothing, and I'm getting a little... hum...what's the word I'm looking for, uh... pissed?
Yeah, I'm pissed off!
School is starting soon, and I have no freaking idea what I'm doing. Here I am with a third grader in the registration office of Parkside West Elementary.
(Totally coincidental! If there is an actual school in DC by that name, just know I made it UP!)
Thanks to QB, I have all the legal paperwork for my son, whom apparently didn't have any identification while he was in South America.
Understandable, but at the same time, QB had to forge Raven's signature on his birth certificate, shot records, and social security application. I didn't like that. Raven should've been the one to do that, her and I both. But desperate times calls for desperate measures. When Rae returns, QB will scrap the documents and my bae can sign it all herself.
All is well though, and with Terra in agreement, I pulled Dylan out of his old school, and he will be attending this one with Jr. My mind swiftly thought about Star and Mar'i. This was one of the more exciting times for my friend.
She loved this kind of stuff. Being a mom and experiencing everything that it entailed. Then I thought about Ric. He's a complete mess. I actually feel terrible for him. I knew firsthand how it felt to lose the most important thing in your entire existence, but I knew Rae will bring them both back unscathed, and Ric knew it too.
We've gotten closer in the last few weeks, although I can see that he's dying inside. After Ramos' funeral, he came to my place, drank way too much, and cried himself to sleep on the floor. He's done that a lot... sleeping on the floor. Vic asked him to why doesn't he want to get into the bed, and he said...
'My girls are probably sleeping on the floor. A cold, musty, dirty floor. Why should I be comfortable when they might be suffering as we speak! I just hope that they are together. I hope that they still find solace in each other's company. I know my wife would fight to the death for us, I just pray that she doesn't have to... you know.'
Talk about heartbreaking...
Ric told the school officials that Mar'i was on an extended vacation with Star, and will be back soon. Parkside West in turn offered Mar'i a virtual option for the first semester, which was great, and Ric accepted. Jr also told Ric that he'd complete all of her assignments online for her until she returns, so she wouldn't fall behind, and Ric was thrilled by that too.
That's my son for you, selfless and supportive. Man I love this boy! He's just the sweetest young dude! Always being there for those in need, rather he knew it or not! It was his nature, it was his design, and that's what's up!
"Garfield Logan Jr. You can come now. The placement test will take about 45 minutes, but don't be nervous. You are allowed three breaks if you need. It's just standard procedure for children that has been home schooled, okay." One of the test proctors said.
"You got this little dude." I said giving my baby a pep talk.
"I know. Thanks dad. I love you." He said as he wrapped his little arms around me.
I immediately mimicked his heart felt gesture, nearly squeezing the dickens out of the kid. I'm so in love with my son. He just makes my life complete. I let him go and he flashed an award-winning smile, huh... my smile, then went into the testing room.
I had some time to kill so I called Terra to check on Dill. She was released from the hospital about two weeks ago, and seems to be in good spirits.
