(Raven)

Nearing midnight

During the night, I had the hardest time falling asleep. I looked over at Star and Mandy then smiled. They are safe for the moment, but I have to find Mar'i. Nothing is concrete unless I have her, so I can get them all back home. My mind was going in a million directions right now because I had no idea why I had that episode earlier.

'Did Scathe really poison me? No, that's not it because I was trained to be able to detect foreign substances, just in case a 'hit' wanted to get a bit too frisky. Am I pregnant? I don't think so. Although BB and I had shared an exquisite moment together, it just doesn't feel that way. I remembered every second that I carried my son, and from what I'm feeling right now... that's doesn't seem to be it.

So... what is it?

I may need to take Star up on her advice and see a medic. I feel as if my head is going to explode, and my stomach is churning in knots!'

"Ugh." I stood in severe pain immediately hitting the floor. This action caused the girls... my girls to rise up from their comfortable position with concern. I clutched my stomach, trying to sooth the pain that was ripping throughout, while trying to catch my breath at the same time.

"Okay enough is enough! I'm going for help!" Mandy said then I grabbed her wrist, halting her from proceeding.

"Please... find Dr. Anderson. She's on my side. I don't trust anyone else. I'm sorry for causing such a scene. This is not my strong side, but..."

"Ms. Raven, you are the strongest person that I know! But you are also human. And right now, you need help. I'm going to find Dr. Anderson and you'll be just fine." She smiled at me as I ran my shaky hand down the side of her adolescent face. Star held on to me, trying to ease my pain while being supportive as well. Mandy should know exactly where to look because Dr. Anderson is the only physician in Scathe, and she patched her up after her quote un-quote initiation.

"What is going on Raven? Why are you in the pain? I've never seen you like this... ever!"

"I don't know. Believe me, I've never had this kind of pain! It feels like my insides are on fire!"

"This is ludicrous! You are the favored warrior female here in this retched dump! Why are you ill? You can't go down now, especially since we are so close to going home. And I'm not going without you! So you have to fight this Raven! Be the Beast that you're supposed to be! You know, do the sharpening of the claws."

I looked at her slightly amused because I can clearly see that she was still in la-la land, hmp.

"Star."

"Yes?"

"Do you need some water or something? You shouldn't give pep-talks when you are still under the effects of pain killers."

"No, no water, but I would like more of the pain killers actually... ta-he-he."

I love this woman right here. Call me crazy, but her being here is a little like being home. Although... I hate that it's under these circumstances, but at least I'm not alone in Scathe. I can absolutely trust her, and she can with me, because I will do anything to make sure that she's safe, and those that know me... know the same!

She was laughing hysterically, welp... in her own quiet giggly kind of way, which caused me to chuckle a little as well. Then out of nowhere she burst out sobbing.

"Star... what's wrong? Are you starting to hurt?" I placed my hand on her shoulder in terrible pain myself.

"Yes, my heart hurts. Right here Raven... righ here." She placed her hand across her chest, then hung her head low, crying uncontrollably. I knew exactly who she's referring to, her daughter. She needed her baby. She craved her daughter just like I crave my son. She then rested her head on my shoulder while she cried, as I stroked her back in a consoling fashion. I couldn't help but feel sorrow for my best friend.
