IF Harry had said that he was planning on breaking into the restricted section of the Hogwarts library, she would've gone with him.
Y/n knew how to avoid getting caught while walking on the Hogwarts grounds past curfew; she did it often, finding comfort wandering.
"You stepped on my toe, you twat!" Y/n yelped as she pulled Harry into an empty room, nearly being caught by Snape and Quirrell.
"You pushed me into a wall!"
"I was trying to save your life!"
"Thanks for that, by the way."
"You're welcome." She nodded, holding her foot in her hand, the fuzzy slippers ticking her fingers. "What were you doing in the restricted section?"
"What were you doing in the restricted section."
"Ah, tea party with Snape." She scoffed, turning around and finally walking correctly on her injured toe.
She might've gone into cardiac arrest.
Her heart stopped.
She wanted to scream, to run, but couldn't move a muscle.
Rocks lied on her feet, even on her injured one; though, she couldn't feel a thing — except for fear.
There he stood, in the oval mirror. Lucius Malfoy.
Without thinking, she turned on her heel, running. Though, she didn't get far before she crashed into Harry's arms, her lungs tightening.
"Y/n, what happened?" Harry asked as he wrapped his arms around her with no hesitation.
"My dad," She breathed into his shoulder before she slowly turned around, coming face to face with a blank mirror. "He...he was just there."
Harry furrowed his eyebrows, "I think you're tired-"
"I'm not...I don't sleep. That's not the point. He was- he was right there!" She protested.
"We shouldn't be here," Harry changed the subject. But Y/n's fear turned into fascination as she walked closer to the mysterious mirror; she was intrigued.
In the mirrors stood her smiling father, looking proud. There was a glisten in his eyes — tears.
Lucius Malfoy has tears in his eyes.
Y/n softly sighed, seeing her dad look at her a way he had never looked at her before.
"Y/n," Harry said from beside her, "Hey, there's nothing there. We should go...Ron's probably worried-"
"Ron's asleep." She said blankly, paying no attention to his gentle tone. "There's... you don't see it?" She asked desperately yet quietly, looking at him. Her father's hand was on her shoulder, yet she couldn't feel anything.
