ii. sky island arc"Then I'll have 500 meats to go."
Shoto could only sigh in exasperation as he sat between the quarreling two. They've been competitively going on about pies, drinks, and meat. It was simply pointless to hear them argue about the most nonsensical things.
"We don't have enough money for that." Nami sharply scolded, hitting Luffy on the top of his head to make him stop betting on such small things.
"Well. I'm sure Sanji can cook you some meat that are way more delicious than the meat sold here." Shoto plainly replied as he rested his head on the palm of his hand, trying to find something interesting from looking around the pub.
The pub owner was visibly offended by the young male's words but he couldn't dwell on it since he really wasn't a classified cook.
"They sell good sake though." Zoro stated with a satisfied smirk.
Suddenly, the whole pub went silent as soon as a random person yelled in horror, "Bellamy's crew is here!" People immediately went to skedaddle on their way, stumbling as they rushed to exit the pub.
"Huh? Bellamy's the guy from earlier, right?" Zoro arched a brow.
"Yeah." Nami muttered gravely, honestly feeling something odd from that guy. "He was pretty nasty."
"I bet he has a large reputation around here just because he has the largest bounty. Or maybe also because his crew and himself beats up random people daily." Shoto grumbled, Bellmany gave off a Villain vibe, mainly the reason why he heavily disliked the guy.
But then again, he didn't have a bounty himself so he couldn't exactly know what people with bounties would feel. Arrogant, maybe?
The door was smashed down as Bellamy stepped in, a sadistic crooked smirk on his face as people's faces downed with horror. Did they really fear him that much?
"Give us our seats." He demanded.
The silver haired guy chose a random chair that he happens to like and looked down at the person sitting on it.
"Y-You can have my chair if you w-wanna. . ." The random guy stuttered, feeling threatened under the silver haired man's intense stare.
"No, thank you." He grinned, kicking the guy off harshly as he fell with a loud thud, attracting the Strawhat crew's attention. "Ah, much better." He sat on the chair, using the fallen guy as a floor mat.
The other party's crew laughed boisterously, finding great amusement in other people's sufferings.
"Ooh, and what do we have here? The stupid people from before?" Bellamy mused, approaching their spot as his smirk widened. "Strawhat, Pirate Hunter, and these two newbies. What a coincidence."
They all remained quite, not wanting to cause conflict.
Before they knew it, due to the crew's stubbornness of not speaking, they started beating them up before taking Nami away, leaving Luffy and Zoro on the floor as they remained strong.
"What losers." The silver haired male laughed mockingly. "They're just a bunch of no names after all."
"Marines' bounty making in a nutshell."
Shoto finally heard enough as he clenched his fist, making a slight sound by the shift of his seat that made the whole pub look at him and only realize that he was there.
"Jeez, I almost forgot about the kid." Bellamy muttered.
"Forget about the promise you made." Nami desperately told Zoro and Luffy. "You can fight back." Despite her words reaching their ears, Luffy didn't budge but only kept a careful eye on the nasty Pirates and what they were planning to do with a precious member of his crew.
"Giving him a beating wouldn't exactly look good on him. I mean, he's got one big nasty scar on his left eye already."
"Now that you mentioned it. . ." Bellamy squinted an eye to see the said scar clearer. "It is large, and it is there. But, it looks too neat don't ya think? It can't possibly be caused by an explosion."
An explosion can't be the only cause, you know.
"Try erasing it." Grinning at the idea, Bellamy dipped his thumb in the warm liquid of his glass, now tightening an iron grip on Shoto's shoulder as he harshly rubbed the skin, thinking it would come off.
But to no avail, it didn't. It was still there, except, redder and irritated.
"It's real." They came into conclusion.
However, Shoto was still frozen still, his eyes wide open as past trauma came over him. The boiling water, his younger self, and most importantly-- his mother.
It happened years ago and he's already come in terms with it but nothing good will ever come from rubbing one's scar.
"Shoto?" His crew asked carefully, fear for whatever came over the young boy who used to be so composed. It was odd seeing the heterochromatic male shaking slightly as if he was seeing a whole scene in front of him that they couldn't.
"The kid's nuts." Bellamy excused, slamming a hand on the counter as he kept a closer eye on Shoto, ready to beat him up if needed.
Suddenly, fire started cackling by the ends of his hair, signing a large release of his 'devil fruit'. But in order to make sure that the whole island doesn't light up on fire and burns down, all Nami could do was pour down a bucket of ice on top of Shoto's head.
Even as he calmed down, the warmth in his scar wasn't disappearing. And instead of the normal temperature that doesn't exceed the hotness, for him, it was the same boiling water from before.
Will he give the crew a chance to learn more about him? But he wasn't exactly willing to open up to people who he wasn't sure is real yet.
