Surrounded by an arid expanse devoid of human civilization, he was disoriented and perplexed. Deserts were meant to be distant landscapes, existing in far-off countries, not within the confines of a bustling city. How could he have gone from slumbering peacefully in his own room to this bewildering and isolated landscape?
