Chapter 4

Two Conniving Traitors

      “Hades!! Are you out of your mind?? Why did you give it to her?? So much for talking about that deal!!” Simon Draco angrily slump in front of his desk.

            “We can’t let our last stake die, can we?” he calmly replied, crossing his arms against his chest. “And I am also intrigued kung hanggang san ang kayang gawin ng ating reyna para sa nag-iisang anak nya.”

            Simon arched his brow, indifference showed in his fierce face. He leaned back and played with the paperweight in front of him. “And?”

            “I still don’t know her limit but..she agreed to see me every now and then.” He grinned at himself, silently congratulating himself for not getting intimidated by the Queen. Jayden once taught him that to get to the Queen, one must not show any fear.

            “Someone looks smitten by her beauty,” Julian entered his office, smiling smugly.

            “I am not,” he defensively snapped.

            “Oh..am I talking about you, Hades?” his eyes danced in amusement while Simon laughed rudely. He narrowed his eyes at them before changing the topic.

            “Tell me, Julian, is it possible for the Stygian to live and grow up?”

            “No. He must be killed.. That’s the curse given by the witches and wizards to a vampire and hunter who will not follow their fate. They are like the nephilim of fallen angels with humans. At first, they are not aware of that possibility but they cursed their blood…not to brood children with the enemy.”

            “So?” Simon asked astonished at every word that came out of Julian’s mouth.

            “Dycon is Stygian.. He must die or he will kill us all. There’s no way we can reverse the curse unless…”

            “unless???”

            “Nevermind that. It will never happen anyway. Sa ngayon, kailangan nating patayin ang hunter na masyadong nagmamagaling sa ating bansa.”

            “Wow.. you really belong in Transylvania eh? Go, pero maiiwan ako dito. I have some things to deal with.” Hades turned his back to them..a grin tugging from his lips..

            “Careful with playing with the fire, Hades, it may turn you into dust.”

            Julian vanished while Simon walked out whistling, his mood suddenly lightened. “Punong-puno talaga ng wisdom ang ating mangkukulam.”

            He just shook his head and think about a particular lady that will entertain his boring days.

            Cassandra woke up without Dylan beside her. She laid in the bed for a few moments, just staring at the ceiling and trying to block out the pain that is slowly spreading like virus.

            “Dylan..why am I feeling like we’re slipping away from each other?”

            She’s about to push herself up from the bed when Hades suddenly showed up. Her eyes widened and clutch the covers above her chest.

            “What are you doing here?”

            “The deal?? remember?”

            “ I know! pero bakit nandito ka? Will you please get out?!”

            “Why? May makikita ba akong hindi dapat makita? The hunter’s gone..mukhang hindi na sya nagpaalam sayo ah.”
