Robert told me where my dorm was and introduced me to some of the other Ravenclaws. I had started growing close to one particular girl. Her name was Cho. I found out she was a second year Ravenclaw. She showed me around the dorms and introduced me to her group of friends. I ended up spending the rest of the day with her.
"Hey, Cho?" We were sitting in the great hall for dinner, but I hardly had an appetite.
"What's wrong Aphrodite. You've barely even touched your food." Cho looked up from piece of parchment she was writing on.
"I guess I'm just a bit worried. What if I end up in a house I don't like?" I poked at my food with my fork
"Don't worry. You'll fit into your house perfectly." She paused "I, for one hope you end up in Ravenclaw. You're quite fun to talk to."
I smiled at her. "Thanks Cho. I don't know why I'm so worried."
"No worries. I was nervous all the time during my first year." She looked back down and continued scribbling on her parchment.
I took a deep breath and looked around the Gryffindor Table for Harry, Hermione and Ron. After about a minute of searching I wasn't able to find them. I slumped down on the table and rested my head in my arms. I was bored. Like, ridiculously bored. Cho was nice and my friend, but she had her own friends. I wasn't well acquainted with the first year Ravenclaws. Suddenly, I had an idea. I got up from my table and made my way towards the Hufflepuff table. My eyes skimmed across the huge table in search of one person. The second my eyes locked with his I smiled and rushed over to him.
"Hi Ced" I smiled brightly
"Hey Aph. I heard you got a house." His eyes sparkled.
"Yep. I'm a Ravenclaw for about three weeks." I sat down next to him and rested my head on his shoulder.
"Why the long face?"
"I guess it's just a bit boring for me. I hardly know anyone there and most people think I'm weird. I mean, if someone joined your house only to leave for three weeks would you try to be friends with her?"
He seemed to be thinking. "You make a good point. Don't stress about it too much. After a few days it becomes very easy to make friends. Also, I heard you're already friends with Cho."
"You know her?"
"Yes and no. I've only talked to her a few times. She seems nice."
I sat there thinking. Then, I remembered what I came over to talk to Cedric about.
"Oh!" I exclaimed
"Honestly Aph keep your voice down." Ced snickered.
I rolled my eyes "You know people.. right?"
"Uh, define people" He furrowed his brows.
"Just like.. Anyone I guess"
"I mean yeah I know people"
"Can you introduce me to them now? I'd like to have at least some friends when I go into other houses."
"You want my help making friends?" he questioned.
"Don't say it like that. I'm not lonely I just.. want to know people."
"What about Malfoy. Heard you already have had a rough start with him."
I groaned. "Don't even mention that ridiculous name to me."
"What'd that bastard do" Cedric snickered
"He's just annoying. And self absorbed. He has the largest ego I have ever seen before."
"Yeah well, he's a Malfoy. What'd you expect"
