The next morning I woke up and texted Cedric.

"Hey, we still on for Diagon Alley today?" He responded a heartbeat later.

"Yeah. See you there :)" He responded.

I turned off my phone got dressed and ate breakfast.

"Aph honey, are you excited to get your school supplies?" Father said looking up from the daily prophet.

I smiled "of course I am. Its not everyday you go buy a freaking wand for school."

Not long after we gathered around the fireplace with the floo powder. Just a heads up, floo powder is not a fun way to travel. Very dusty. My mom went first, then it was my turn. It was only my second time travelling with floo powder, so I wasn't completely good at it. I took a deep breath and stepped in the fireplace.

"Now remember to enunciate your words." Father said

I threw down the powder trying not to cough "Diagon Alley" I said. Then all of a sudden I felt a whoosh and appeared at a crowded alley with shops on each side. It was filled with people going in and out of each store. I looked around in awe, and spotted Cedric not too long after. I ran over to him and threw my arms around him.

"Oh my god Aph you scared me!" He jumped in fight then laughed.

"Come on! Let's go! I want to get my robes first." I ran towards the robe shop dragging Cedric by the hand.

I entered the shop and tried on about a million different robes until I finally found one that was perfect. Then, we went into another shop called Ollivanders. It seemed completely empty until all of a sudden an old man rolled towards us.

"Ah, yet another witch. My name's Ollivander. And you are...?" He looked at me

"Oh! Im Aphrodite. Aphrodite Sparks." I smiled and held out my hand.

"Sparks! Daughter of Joshua and Ashlynn Sparks?"

"Yep. Those are my parents."

"I remember both of them coming in here like it was yesterday. Very smart people. No wonder they were both Ravenclaw... Now! I have the perfect wand for you. Remember, the wand chooses the witch.." He walked around the shop looking closely at each one. "Ah! Lets try this one." He pulled out a small box and opened it.

"This one is Acacia wood with a dragon heartstring core, 9 ¾" and quite bendy flexibility. Try swishing it and see what happens." He said handing me the wand.

I gave it a sharp flick and immediately the entire shop shook and the windows broke.

"Oh no no no definitely not." He saw another one and took it out. "Try this one. It's Sycamore wood with a phoenix feather core, 12 ¾" and surprisingly swishy flexibility"

I gave it a lighter flick this time in case it blew up the entire shop. This time, a bunch of wands flew across the room, one hitting Ollivander right in the face.

"Oh my gosh! Im so sorry!" I said quickly putting down the wand. Ollivander looked questioningly at the box that hit him in the face.

"What about this? Its Hazel wood with a dragon heartstring core, 11 ¾" and unyielding flexibility. I think this one might just be it." He handed me the box

I took out the wand and it was the perfect weight. It fit perfectly in my hand and as I gave it a swish the broken windows fixed itself, and all the wands went back to the shelves. I looked at Cedric and then at Ollivander.

"Looks like we found it" Ollivander chuckled.

I smiled at Ollivander and paid for the wand. Then we looked for my books, and the supplies. The last thing on the list was a pet. The list said I was only able to bring a cat, owl, or toad so I went into the pet shop and roamed around for a bit looking for the right animal. I went to look at the toads first but none of them caught my interest. I looked around more and saw a huge display of owls. I walked towards them and saw a young boy about my age. He seemed interested in a particular snowy owl. I saw a white spectacled owl, and immediately bought it. She seemed pretty shy towards others but when I reached out my hand she immediately flew up to my shoulder and sat there.

I decided to name her Athena. We could have matching Greek goddess names.

As I was walking out of the pet shop the sound of a small meow caught my interest. I slowly walked towards the sound and saw a tiny baby black kitten curled up in the corner of a cage.
I picked her up and she immediately squirmed out of my fingers, and fell to the ground.
She ran around the shop, as I chased her bringing attention to the people around me. I kept chasing her, and soon the boy who I saw with the owls saw the kitten and decided to help me.
We ran around accidentally knocking down displays trying to catch the kitten. I went around one of the isles to the opposite side so I would run into the cat, and soon enough I caught her. I looked up at the boy.

"Thank you so much! I don't know what I would've done if I couldn't catch her." I smiled at him

"Of course! You might want to hold on tightly to her" he said glancing at the tiny kitten who was now in my arms licking my cheek.

I laughed and looked down at the kitten. "I think I'll name her Eris if I get her. You know, after the goddess of chaos."

"It suits her. She definitely does have a thing for chaos." He laughed and then looked outside towards a giant man with a large beard. "Oh, I must be on my way now. It was nice meeting you" he said as he ran away

I turned around and scratched the kitten on her head, then I realized I didn't know his name. "Wait! I never got your name!" I yelled, but he was already gone.

"Weird" I thought to myself.
