"Hothead!" "What did you just call me?!" California and Texas were in the middle of another argument over who was better for the third time this week. Tennessee, Alaska, and Florida were off to the side, watching. 'Better than most stuff on TV' Alaska though while watching the two go at it again. The fight had started a few minutes earlier when Texas and California both insulted each other's culture. California insisted Texas was just a rebellious teen that would eventually die off like the Confederacy. Texas, in retaliation, called California a spoiled teen who thinks the world revolves around her and she would eventually be disgraced in a huge public scandal. Insults kept flying back and forth from both sides, each getting more personal and derogatory.

By this point, Florida had started recording it to send to the other states who weren't here. Tennessee was standing by, bored, because she was hoping to hang out with California for the night. Alaska had joined the posse because Hawaii was off hanging out with some of the east coast states.

"You know what, you are a disgrace to the entire union. All you are in a shell of a state trying to make themselves look tough by holding a gun when in reality, you are a mess of a person that can't even keep their own shit together. Anytime we try and include you in something, you mess up for everyone else because you are a selfish brat who only thinks about themselves and has an ego the size of the moon." To emphasize her statement, California lunged forward and ripped off Texas' eyepatch, revealing the gunshot wound over her eye for everyone to see. "Oh my God, it looks even more hideous than I remember! Ha, oh I can't believe anyone thinks you're strong when Mexico managed to straight up obliterate your eye!"

After this display, Texas was shaking hard, trying to cover the wound with anything. California was laughing at her, doubling over from it. The group of states watching were extremely concerned about the whole display. Florida was shocked Texas had gotten hurt so badly. Tennessee was livid but knew California would somehow find a way to evade any consequences for this situation. Alaska, meanwhile, stormed over to the two. She grabbed California's hand and hoisted her high in the air to scare her. Forcefully, she grabbed the eyepatch out of the girl's grasp and handed it backwards to Texas, who was still profusely shaking.

"Why. The. Hell. Would you do this?!" She practically growled at the other. California gulped, knowing Alaska could easily beat her up. "Um...I...heh...um..." She kept mumbling, trying to make an excuse. Alaska, however, was having none of it. "That's it. Tonight, you get to sleep outside. No arguing allowed. Got it?" She nodded, not wanting to anger her anymore. Alaska stormed over to the back door and dropped California on the grass. She winced from the impact but didn't say anything. Alaska started to head inside, before California protested.

"Hey, it's only 6! I haven't eaten dinner yet!" "You'll survive one night without your avocado toast. Also, there's a hose, so don't ask for water either. You dug this hole by going too far, now, you have to deal with the consequences." And with that, she shut the door, loudly. The living room was quiet, but Alaska heard small whimpers. Heading over to the sound, she found Texas in a ball on the couch, trying to suppress her tears. Alaska quietly sighed, then sat down next to the state. Texas froze, not making a sound. She had been too absorbed into the pit of doubt and self-hate to have heard or seen California being thrown out, so she had no clue who the person next to her was.

Alaska slowly bent down and gently hugged the other girl, rubbing her back to calm her down, like she does for the other states when they are crying. Texas started sobbing at this, not used to being comforted. The two stayed like that for a few minutes, Texas tears dissipating over the time. Eventually the two were just hugging, comfortable. Both started to fall asleep and soon they were both out, still hugging. At some point during the night, Tennessee came into the living room and put a blanket over the two to make sure they were warm. 'Oh goodness, I'm sure Alaska's not going to let this go easily. Callie seriously dug herself a grave this time.'

Welp, there ya go! It was more angst than fluff, but that's just how I write. Also, it left ambiguous whether or not the states are siblings this time around, so this can be shipping if want it to. Sorry it's not super detailed, but I wanted it to remain relatively short. Never let me get started on detailing a chapter or we'll have another 7K word chapter situation.

Anyways, adios y'all!
