Chapter 6

Apology

ALEX.

Jay opened the door, revealing a rather busy scene. A doctor was checking on Nathan, Max was talking to a nurse about something (his face looked a tad bit pale), the other two boys surrounded Nathan, (who still looked a little woozy), and lastly.... Nathan was shirtless.

As soon as my eyes landed on him, I panicked.

I gulped. "Uh... Jay? This is a little uncomfortable, maybe we---"

He gripped my arm. "No. We're doing this."

"B-But... But... Nathan.. he.." I stuttered, finding it hard to breathe.

Jay rolled his eyes. "You are just adorable. Just don't look at him. We got this."

I tried to swallow the lump growing in my throat. I hate myself for being too.. Overdramatic.

I managed to calm myself down and put on my straight face. "Let's do this."

We both squared our shoulders, put on pissed off expressions, and marched in. I plopped down on one end of the couch, Jay on the other.

Siva and Tom looked at each of us.

"Whoa, what happened to you two?" Tom asked.

Jay sighed irritably. "Ask the drama queen."

Oh, this'll be fun.

I snorted and rolled my eyes. "Yeah, says the drunkard."

He scoffed, but I could tell he was trying to hold back a laugh. "You started this."

"Yeah, right. Mind you, YOU were the one who called me a bitch!" I spat out.

"I'm sorry, but I love beer more than you."

I bit down on my tongue to prevent myself from laughing. "I got that, bastard. I was wrong for going out with you anyway."

I could see a flash of hurt, but I gave him a look of apology, and he continued. "Maybe you were. And I was wrong to ask you out!"

"Asshole."

"Bitch."

"Dipshit."

"Retard."

"Drunkard."

"Whore."

"I hate you."

"The feeling is mutual, don't get too cocky."

"GUYS! Let's just calm down? You two are making me dizzy." Siva cried, putting a hand to his temple.

I folded my arms across my chest. "You are such a jerk," I muttered, loud enough for Jay to hear.

"Drama queen. What's wrong with drinking?" He mumbled.

I looked up and noticed that Nathan was watching our mini-catfight. He had a curious expression on his face, making him look like a lost puppy.

Aw. JUST STAHP!

He noticed me staring back, so he looked away hastily. By now, the doctors were attaching some... contraption to his abdomen.

I also noticed the doctors stopped and watched us first.

Okay... We were that noisy? Awkward.

"Okaaaaayy... So here's your brace, mr. Sykes. You need to keep it on until your ribs fully heal." The doctor continued, scribbling something on his clipboard, turning his attention back to Nathan.
