Chapter 7
Leaving
ALEX.
It's been a week since Nathan's been released from the hospital. The other guys have been hanging out in my house, taking the liberty of diving in the pool and raiding the fridge. (since my parents already had a 'talk' with them and are already starting to accept them as my normal friends.) They haven't been wreaking havoc yet, (take note, YET.) but I wouldn't be too comfortable.
It was all fun and games until one day...
"Alex... There's something for you in the mail," Jay called out from the living room. I was in the kitchen, cleaning up after they devoured two boxes of pizza. Siva, Max and Tom were in the recreation room, which left Jay and me.
"What has Stanford got to do with you?"
I had a mini-heart attack.
See, I took an exam for Stanford last year, since I'll be starting college already. We-my parents and I-have been waiting in vain for months, and now, here it is.
If I didn't get in, I'd die.
"WHAT?! GIMME IT!" I yelled, rugby-tackling Jay to the floor.
"Alright, alright!" Jay cried out, holding his hands up in surrender. I grabbed the letter. "You can have it! What's so important about that anyway?"
I ignored him and continued scanning the letter.
HOLY COW.
I GOT IN!
"I GOT IN!" I screamed, throwing my arms around Jay's neck. "THIS IS SO AWESOME!"
"Woah," he said, prying my hands off. "Calm down. You got in?"
I grinned. "I GOT INTO STANFORD UNIVERSITY! I'LL BE STUDYING THERE!"
"Wow," He looked impressed. "I never thought you were a nerd."
I sighed. "I'll take that as a compliment."
Jay laughed. "Alright, Miss Smartypants. I think that deserves a little victory splash."
He winked at me.
I'm not liking where this is going.
He grabbed the letter put of my hands, picked me up, and slung me over his shoulder. He started walking to the backyard, where the pool was.
It took me a full second to absorb what was about to happen.
"JAY!" I screamed. "PUT ME DOWN!"
He laughed. "No!"
"YOU DIPSHIT! PUT ME THE FVCK DOWN THIS INSTANT!" I yelled again, hammering at his back.
He laughed harder, opening the back door. I began yelling all the known curses to mankind.
I didn't realize we were already there until he began counting down.
"1..."
"BASTARD!"
"2..."
"I SWEAR-"
"3!"
He tossed me into the pool, kicking and screaming.
"YOU LITTLE BASTARD! I WILL HAVE MY PAYBACK SOON!" I yelled, pushing away wet hair from my face.
He clutched his stomach, laughing his ass off. I glared at him, trying to come up with a plan. I had a brilliant one.
