"What do you mean Percy thinks she not dangerous to us?"

"She says she's not even working for anyone. She's on our side."

This didn't make sense to me. Percy had been telling us she was dangerous and could kill them just by glaring daggers at them.

"We're on our way Jase, just hang tight."

The line goes dead and I flipped the phone shut and shove it back into my pocket. A couple of trainees try to peek into the room, but I shut it before they can hear anything. Leo is typing away at his computer, his eyes set on the prize.

"What did you say her name was?"

"Annabeth Chase," I replied and sat down on the squashy chair next to him. Leo was typing so fast his hands were flying practically, just a blur. I doubted the computer could keep up.

"Well, she's good, like better than the Pentagon good. I didn't even know a computer could hold so many firewalls." Leo cracked and shot me a quick smile as the computer screen blazed on with coding and practically every nerdy thing on there.

I was also sure Leo had Only-Fans on a tab but I didn't press because there were more pressing manners than what my best-friend did in his spare time.

"Piper said she's on our side." My mouth went dry at the thought of Piper but I steered clear of that thought process, it never ended well.

Leo raised an eyebrow. "That may be useful if she's not a lying, backstabbing piece of work, that is. Whoever this Annabeth Chase is, she's handy. See that?" Leo pointed to some coding on the screen that didn't make any sense whatsoever. I just nodded along.

"Thats a backlash program, I'm sure it'll wipe all of our data, money and probably send our whereabouts to the feds. Even if did get through it, which is a less than 00.001% chance there's going to be another backlash and another and another."

Yes, whoever she was, Annabeth Chase may have thought of everything. Was she a half-blood or a human? Maybe a half-blood with extreme smarts?

"So you can't crack it?"

Leo nodded solemnly. "Yup, unless you want the FBI to be at our doorstep shooting us down, then no, I can't crack it. You only see backlash programs on CIA networks and the black market. Not on a laptop."

Yes, this Annabeth Chase was already more dangerous than I'd like to know at this point.

Leo shut off the computer entirely, stood up, and stretched, he looked tired and worn down, his fingers whee smoking, probably from the nerves, he has when he hacks. He's good at it, better than I'd ever been but still has his doubts.

But I have my doubts about my abilities too. What if the wind just stops working? Or in those rare moments, I can call down lightning, what if it hits Percy who is controlling water at that time? He'd be reduced to ash and dust.

I think everyone has their doubts.

Maybe because we have no idea where our powers come from and they all vary from growing plants by singing to making fire appear out of nowhere. Some didn't have powers like mine or Leo's. Leo's two siblings Nyssa and Harley were just as handy as Leo, if not more. They could forge anything, from a simple claw-hammer to a device that disguised someone in complete invisible camouflage. I didn't trust that quite yet though.

The Stoll brothers couldn't fly or make tunnels, but they were extremely street-smart, could pick any lock like magic, and could steal something right under your nose. It was obvious I didn't trust them in the slightest to be alone in the warehouse.
