Percy Jackson
Why are you trusting her?
Remember. Keep those walls up buddy, only let them see what you want them to see. If they see your darkness, they'll leave you as Dad did. Hurt you like Gabe. What you felt with Bianca but ten times worse.
If they see what you've done, they'll never forgive you
Ever
I didn't sleep that night, once Frank showed Annabeth to the Bunker. I lay awake in my little loft, staring at the ceiling, running my hands through my hair aimlessly. The thoughts in my head bounce everywhere, I can't control them. They have their agenda.
Something in my gut told me to trust her. I relied on my gut feeling unlike the others did, they followed their heart, they did their mind's bidding. I had a lurking suspicion that Annabeth Chase relied on her gut too.
The looks she gave me were scathing, she despised me.
I despise me too, get in line.
Was this the right descion, inviting her on the team for a short period? Was she truly trust-able? Was I? Was my team doubting me now? After all, we've done the past few years?
By the sun was rising in the mountains I was downstairs, making myself eggs and chomping on some leftover blue cookies. Trainee's and my teammates came up from downstairs. Will was dragging Nico into the kitchen practically.
"Nico, you passed the training? How can you still not wake up properly?" I sighed, scrambling my eggs into tiny chunks how I liked it. Nico groaned and slumped into a barstool.
"Shut up Percy, you don't even fall asleep. You can't judge." Nico flipped me off before Will slid a cup of heavily sugared coffee under his nose.
"Hey! I sleep, just not often." I complain and throw my eggs onto two pieces of buttered toast, munching on it, easing the hunger pains in my stomach. I threw a couple of blue cookies into my mouth along with it, sugar for breakfast was the best kind for breakfast and you can't deny this true statement.
Annabeth, Piper, and all those in room #4 came up, Annabeth looked as though she hadn't slept either, but was determined not to look tired and poured herself a cup of coffee without any sugar or cream. A couple of kids stared at her, they hadn't seen her before and she was drinking straight-up coffee without any add ons.
That was a different kind of strength. I could never do it.
"Everyone," I said in a loud voice and everyone turned their attention to me without any fault. "This is Annabeth Chase, as of last night, she joined my team in the fight. No hazing." I glared at the Stoll's who at once already put their heads together in planning.
"What can you do!" A voice from the back piped up, Leo's little brother Harley. The youngest of everyone, he was eleven.
Annabeth's eyes swooped around the kitchen and the mess hall, everyone had their eyes on her, but she didn't look uncomfortable in the spotlight, it fit her.
She cleared her throat. "I have an IQ of 201, and yes, I did take a DNA test. Half of it's missing, like the rest of you."
No-one more contradicted this. Everyone eyed the bronze dagger strapped to her waist carefully.
