"X!" Two shrieked as his yellow friend slid off the cliff they were balancing on. X wailed, Two gripping his wrist as quick as he could, shocked and terrified gasps whispering behind him. He glanced at all the objects before him, it was his contestants in alphabetical order first, then at the back of the line were Four's. Or use to be. They had left the burnt lands of where TPOT had taken place, so Four wouldn't come for them. The formal lava had burnt away so much of the forest that it seemed like an endless, dull landscape of grey, speckled with ragged tree stumps. At last they had found something, which were towering cliffs and slopes. The other route they should've taken were blocked off by wide streams of lava. Just their luck..
X dangled helplessly from his hands, trembling and whimpering in terror. Two grunted, they were in a tight area but he had to do something. He pulled backwards, his back bumping into the rocky wall. He strained, yanking X up and dropping him right on the edge. X cried out, slipping once more, but before he could fall he scrambled over the ledge and stood quivering by Two. Two smiled and wrapped his arms tightly around X.
"I'm sorry.." he murmured.
"For what?"
"You wouldn't have nearly fallen if I didn't take you here," he sighed, then began to walk again, grabbing X's arm as he pressed himself against the stone wall. "Everybody! Hold hands, if any of us fall, we can support each other. Armless ones, press against each other!" Two yowled, unsure if every contestant heard his warning. A dreadful shriek echoed behind them. It was Woody. Two watched in horror as he saw the shape tumble off the cliff as if he were lifeless rock. Snaps and slams exploded through every time he hit a stone, his shrieks abruptly cutting off as he slammed headfirst into a pointed, jagged stone. He limply continued to tumbled and fall down, blood spluttering from his head. At last, Woody's lifeless body crashed to the ground below, his body battered and broken.
Terrified wails and cries roared around him, panic-stricken screeches jolting him to look behind. He hurried on, nobody else had fallen off yet, but they would if they kept panicking.
"I'll revive whoever falls!" Two called. It wasn't death they were actually afraid of, but the agonizing pain and terror that would clasp and tear at them as they helplessly fell to their deaths.
"No!!" A loud shriek broke everyone else's wails off, and another small shape swung off the cliffs. Grassy. Grassy shrieked and sobbed in horror as he continuously smacked against the rocks below. Two inhaled sharply, choking back a cry of horror as Blocky collapsed at the edge, yowling in despair as he reached hopelessly for Grassy. Pebbles clattered beneath his feet, they were causing too much of a panic attack.
"Stop!!" Two cried, holding X close. X trembled violently, his eyes wide with trauma as Grassy disappeared into the ground with a blunt yelp, blood spiking everywhere from his limp body, dust clearing around him. "We can do this! Keep going! Please!" Two yowled over the terrified voices. He couldn't bare to see anymore objects fall off, so he looked away, covering X's eyes. As they gradually began to move, he heard loud cries behind him and dreadful crashing. He knew more and more objects were falling, and there was nothing he could do but keep moving.
