"Come on," Leafy walked alongside the brambles. Four wearily followed, frustration tugging at him harder then the thorns could ever. "They don't go on forever!" She giggled, smiling at him. His expression softened, how could she always smile like that? She's been through so much pain, and in challenging or troubling situations she always manages to cheer herself up, and-or the others around her. It seemed impossible for him, he couldn't understand proper communication much, and he expresses his feelings through powers. Leafy walked over to a field full of wheat, long grass, thorn bushes, shrubs and small trees, though all dead. There was mostly brambles—thorny bushes and bare dirt. Leafy nodded in satisfaction and made her way down the clearing, Four following as he dodged a few brambles.
"What happened here?.." Four stared at the environment around him. "Poor soil," Leafy responded simply, gaining speed. Soon, the burnt away land full of dull, gray ground and ragged, crisped trees came into sight. Relief surged through Four like a refreshing wave of cool water and wind. Leafy silently cheered in happiness, emerging into the clearing. Four looked around, trailing after her as they began to trek up a slope. They both looked down at the charred area, slowly walking down. Four picked Leafy up and held her to his chest, she looked up at him with gleaming, adorable eyes. Four stared down at her in affection, he realized how soft he looked and shook his head, growling.
"You're treating me as if I'm just a little puppy!" Leafy giggled. Four groaned, creeping past a few tree stumps and whirling around. Where are they?
"I'd expect at least someone to be out here.." she murmured in disappointment and sadness. He knew she was referring to Firey. He sighed, but—she was right. No object was out. No sound was heard. He groaned, confusion splintering into shock; "they left.." he whispered, icy claws raking down his spine. "Th-they.." he tightened his grasp. Leafy squeaked, she gazed up at him, "how do you know..?" She whimpered. "Look around..listen.." Four whimpered. "They're gone.." his legs wobbled under him and he collapsed hopelessly, tears in his eyes. "I just want X back.." he choked. "We'll get him back..I promise.." Leafy comforted quietly, hugging him. "What did I do to deserve this.." Four whimpered, Leafy nuzzling his chest, "nothing..it's all Two.. he has his own mind."
