"Four.." Leafy murmured in a scared tone as she trembled in her sleep. Four laid right next to her, they were under a large, burnt away tree stump. "H-help..me.." Leafy whispered, sweating. Four's eyes flickered open and he stared down in confusion at Leafy as he sat up. Leafy laid there as if she were helpless puppy unable to sleep, she twitched and groaned, shifting as much to make Four think she woke up every time. Carefully, he nudged her awake, careful not to scare her. Her eyes slowly flickered open, her breathing slowing.
"Four! I had a dream about me, I was dying and they—the TPOT contestants captured you!! I was in so much pain!" She wailed, her eyes wide with fear. Four touched her shoulder, heat washing over him in an instant. He inhaled, pulling away and getting up. "Well, you're awake now, and it's time to get going," he sighed, Leafy nodded and grasped his wrist for support as she struggled upwards. "I-I wish we didn't have to do this.." she whined. "I wish we could just forget about Two and just run away.."
Four turned to look at her in dismay, "no! We must find them! I need X!" He breathed desperately, longing and anger blazing in his eyes. Leafy shakily nodded, her eyes glittering with hurt. What could she possibly be harmed about? He groaned, pushing aside the look on her face and beginning to walk towards the shadowed mountains, the dull, empty grey land seemingly stretching far ahead of them forever, the mountains only a part of the sky. Leafy clenched his wrist and followed gingery, as if she were hesitant about leaving behind their destructed homes, the recently destroyed one and the one which Two took over—burned away by lava. It sorta looked like the mountains almost surrounded them. Four gasped, halting. The dirt here was much softer and crumby, and he could she footprints laying ahead of where the gigantic patch of dirt lay, this could've been a lake before the lava flooded the land. A sorrowful pang shot through his heart, sharper then a snake's venomous fangs. He remembered all of the memories he had shared here before the fifteenth episode—when he first arrived, when he did all the challenges with them, where he eliminated the most-voted-for contestants, when Leafy rejoined—it all struck back to him like lightning, splitting his heart into two, crumbly pieces. Nostalgia and weariness swirled inside him like a slow moving stream, dizzying him. He grunted in alarm as Leafy sharply prodded his arm.
"Four!" She shrieked, "where'd you go now? To the Exit?"
He shook his head, realizing she had probably been talking the whole time, "what were you saying?"
"Nothing..I-I was just happy that we found a sign that tells us where they were going, and then I started rambling about how excited I was to see Firey.." she looked down. Excitement bolted through him, "oh right!" He hurried onwards, unable to slow down. It felt as if he could run forever, from the mountains and back—with X—in one day. He purred, picking Leafy up and squeezing her into his head. She giggled, "your prongs kinda wiggle." Prongs? Does she think I'm a fork? He snorted in amusement and continued, soon they would be in Yoyleland, he could just feel X at the tips of his fingers, waiting for a warm, comforting hug, a hug to tell him that he's here, and that everything will be okay and nothing like this will ever happen ever again.
