They weren't far now, they had stumbled across a land, half-grassy, half full of reddish-black rock. They were at Mt. Goiky now, which wasn't a mountain at all, but actually a volcano, and they were walking on the roots of it!
"I demand a break!" Flower whined, collapsing. "It's so warm here, and the wind's cold too, which is the most relaxing thing ever!"
"I agree, it's nice here..it won't be so bad for a new home," Clock paced around, glancing at the volcano, and the magma and lava streams surrounding it. Luckily, they were far from that area.
"New home! How could we ever stay here? It's a volcano!" Coiny growled. "Yeah, but I'll be fine, it won't hurt for me to stay here," Firey sat down. "Easy for you to say," Coiny rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
Alarm shot through Two, "but guys! We can't stay here, there's hardly enough shelter, let alone food and water!" Two argued. Murmurs of agreement, unease and protest began to ripple through the objects. X tightly grasped Two's wrist, whimpering. Two glanced reassuringly at X, "it's okay," he murmured quietly as tears formed in X's eyes.
"I don't like being too hot.." X whispered. "I do, but I already am," Two smirked, Coiny snickering.
"Lets just go already, me and the squad don't do so well in heat," Lollipop retorted, beginning to walk. "Right, come on everyone!" Two beckoned loudly, walking ahead of Lollipop as Gelatin began to race after her. X kept in pace with Two, desperate to get out of this place.
"I wanna stay!" Firey protested, Two shaking his head and sighing. It wasn't long before the reddish-black stone walls and ground turned into soil and grass with trees here and there. X looked around, excitedly, gasping as he realized how close to the Yoyle mountains they were. The trees became more bushier, the grass a fading into faint blue.
"We're so close!" X bounced happily, leaping onto Two's head. Two gasped in surprise and giggled, hurrying.
"Two! Wait!! Stop!" Clock yowled. Two skirted into a quick halt, his breath hitching as he realized he was headed straight towards a stream. The water bubbled speedily over the pebbles, glimmering like starlight across the field. He chuckled nervously and carefully crossed it. Firey bounded up to the stream and lowered, desperation in his eyes.
"Well, my journey ends here, I tried," Firey sniffed, staring down at the glimmering river with sharp, tiny stones beneath the surface, he turned and walked away. "No!" Two growled, "why do you want to break away from us so badly?"
"Because.." Firey hesitated, then shook his head, "I don't like you. I never did."
That wasn't it. He was looking for something; someone. Two rolled his eyes and sighed, "if you don't with us, I'll have no choice but to take you there myself, and it won't be pretty," he snarled. Firey whimpered, Two continuing, "look, ember-nugget, it's a small river, It's half-a-tree wide. Just jump across, you're making everybody wait."
Firey tensed, then leapt right across the stream, crashing into the reeds with a tiny shriek. He sat up with a triumphant, but sad look on his face.
"Good, now everyone else, come on!" Two called over, X grasping his head-fur tightly. He grunted, one object at a time throwing themselves across the wide, foaming trickle of water.
Once everyone was across, he turned and resumed walking, the trees becoming more bushy, more slopes and cliffs passing by them. A wash of relief swept over him as the teal grass abruptly cut into purple grass, and larger slopes circled then. A sign stood not too far from them, greeting them with WELCOME TO YOYLELAND.
