Prologue
I run as fast as my feet can take me, out of the ridiculously huge mansion and into the garden.
I ran with all might, Past the familliar trees and into the route I've recently discovered on the run.
While doing so I tore the bottom part of my long pink dress so that i won't make a silly mistake of tripping over it later on.
Well, I've always hated that dress. Pink isn't exactly my color.
Running past thick bushes and to a small clearing, I mad-dashed to the grim walls.
Come on, come on. I chanted repeatedly.
Just up those walls and I'm free, for good.
Would have been better if I had wings though.
The sound of my bare feet slapping against the mush grounds, my ragged breathing and the pounding of my heart were the only sound that accompanied me. Everything else was silent.
Footsteps disturbed the eerie tranquility as my sensitive ears picked out a few pairs of legs running about five meters behind me.
A few bulky guards actually caught up on me, I gotta say that's impressive, not being cocky or anything but I gained my speed through experience and that's a whole lot of experience.
If they think they have a chance on gaining on me, forget it
They will never win on foot. I am their 'beloved' mistress.
"Hah!" I sneered out loud.
What beloved? They'll just do whatever they're told to do for money.
They'll do anything for money; I learned that the hard way. I flinched involuntarily remembering a horrid flashback.
I shook my head to reality.
This is not the time for flashbacks.
Not tomorrow, not ever. Especially in the middle of my run.
Now that's settled, I glanced back, happy to see that one of the guards had fallen into my trap and is now hanging upside down.
I chuckled slightly then sobered.
Running for an extra mile to fake my location, my grey-blue eyes scanned the area for guards.
Satisfied that not a single guard was around, I turned to a deserted underground passage built by gnomes in case of a fire.
Sunlight blinded my eyes as i resurfaced again, on the other side of the mansion.
Luck is on my side today, not a single guard in sight. On ground and above.
My eyes shifted to the left, eyeing the open gates.
I knew it, they opened it today for the gathering.
I ran full speed towards the gates.
But wait, why is it that both gates are open, they always keep the second gate locked unless...
Like some kind of cue, a huge shadow blocked my almost-there victory and in 5 seconds flat I was flattened on the ground facing up.
I glared at the culprit with as much hate i could muster and smirked when he flinched.
The culprit was none other than the head guard.
I blew a huge breath. So close, I saw past him to the blue sky.
A few birds flew in the open air, I wished I can fly.
Ignoring the birds for a moment, I thought about my cutter situation.
I knew it, they have all this planned out, just like my miserable life.
I should've known.
I smiled bitterly; me of all people should know that it won't be that easy.
Taking one last longing look at the gates just as it closed with a loud crank.
One of the guards hauled me on his shoulder.
The action reminds me of that potato sack the delivery man moved this morning.
Only In this case, the potato sack is me.
I laid helplessly, my arms looking like jelly as they swayed left and right whenever the guard took a step.
I knew better than to fight I knew I couldn't escape.
As the guard neared my house, I muttered, too low for anyone besides the guard to hear me.
"Failed attempt number 215."
Hi, yeah this is my first story. I hope it's not as bad as I think It is.. Give me a chance?
