Hiccup's POV

The blond male twin and his sister charge from both sides and I step back as they run into each other and the female crumples.

She yells in pain, "Tuff you idiot!" I freeze, memories of two crazy but kind siblings from..... Berk and that means -Astrid! My eyes roll up in my head and I collapse to the ground.

-2 minutes later-

"Hey."

I wake up to Tuffnut looming over me.

"Argh!" I yell.

"Whoa dude, calm down," he cries back and then I remember the fight Gobber, Snotlout, the twins and - Astrid. As I think this she comes over and pulls me up.

"You alright?" she asks.

"Yeah, just a bit, well, shocked."

"Why's that?"

"Sorry need to know basis. She frowns.

"OK, how about your name?"

My mind races.

"Ryder, but some call me The Dragon Master" I answer. I turn and call for Toothless and as he comes out of the bushes and nuzzles my hand I hear a sharp intake of breath and Astrid brings her axe towards his head in an arc of shining steel.

Inferno sprang to life as I counter her blow and her eyes widen before the flames burn her hand.

"What are you doing?!" she screams. My voice shakes with anger.

"Protecting my friend."

She backs away, confused. "But dragons are monsters who kill without reason. Anyway, your 'friend' here killed one of the kids from our Tribe."

Quickly I form a plan, "How? Toothless has been with me for seven years. It must have been a different dragon. Speaking of which, what Tribe are you from?"

"We're from B-" begins Snotlout but Astrid cuts him off with a glare.

"Baldur's Straights. A small fishing village to the north."

"Look, come back to my base, we can get you food, water and a way home but promise that you won't harm any of the dragons." Astrid looks around and nods. "Fine, take us to your base.

As I walk the Berkians along the path to Dragon's Edge Base, I can't think of anything except what will happen when I tell them who I really am - I have a week at least before they realise though. We round a corner and I come face to face with a familiar ginger lunatic.

"Hiccup, brother!" he yells, throwing his arms around me and knocking my helmet clean off.

I look back and see them staring at me. Oh no.
