"Dear Padfoot,
Thank you, thank you, for Harry’s birthday present! It was his favourite by far. One year old and already zooming along on a toy broomstick, he looked so pleased with himself, I’m enclosing a picture so you can see. You know it only rises about two feet off the ground, but he nearly killed the cat and he smashed a horrible vase Petunia sent me for Christmas (no complaints there). Of course, James thought it was so funny, says he’s going to be a great Quidditch player, but we’ve had to pack away all the ornaments and make sure we don’t take our eyes off him when he gets going-".

"Ooh Macky I want a toy broom to fly as well" Gabby squealed and I smiled as I peeked into her bedroom as she lied down on her bed bundled under the comforter her arms around a fluffy unicorn as Mack sat on a chair beside her bed reading her Harry Potter.

"Sure Gabs I'll add that to the things we want from Harry Potter list" Mack laughed lightly.

I pushed the door and both their eyes turned to me as I made my presence known.

Gabby at once turned away with wide eyes while Mack's face dropped but he stood up putting the book away before leaning down and whispering something into her ear to which she nodded and kissed his cheek as he roughly pushed past me gently closing the door behind him.

Oh God.

I slowly let myself drop on the chair Mack had just vacated as Gabby stubbornly had her back to me.

"I thought reading Harry Potter to you was my thing" I mumbled but she heard as she made a choked sort of noise but didn't reply.

"Gabs?" I asked tentatively.

Silence.

"Gabby?".

Again the cold shoulder.

"Baby come on" I moved to sit on the bed beside her and poked her back teasingly.

"I'm sorry Gabs...for the shouting" I whispered leaning down and gently kissing her cheek.

When she didn't move I moved back amused.

"Oh well looks like my cheeky little monkey is asleep. I better go down and eat those lucky charms then" I made to stand up.

I was at the door when a small voice filled the room.

"Noo. Don't go".

I whipped around smirking and raised one amused eyebrow as Gabby held up her unicorn with a distressed expression on her face.
