"Whoa whoa whoa, what's happening here. Everything okay?" Harper frowned as she glanced between the three teenagers. She didn't like that they had to be left out on the loop but these were issues that were a lot bigger than them, and a hell of a lot more personal.
She was on her way to get Gar from the training room as they were supposed to be sparring when she heard the raised voices and panicked yells.
When she arrived she saw Jason glaring at Rachel who was staring wide eyed back at him.
Her voice pulled the three out of their little moment.
Jason turned to the sound of the brunette's voice as he visibly slumped in relief. His change in demeanor didn't go unnoticed from the girl as she grew confused as to what had happened before she'd entered. Jason's mood quickly changed as he left Rachel's side to stand in front of the brunette who shot the purple haired girl a concerned look as her usually pale skin seemed to grow even whiter.
" No, no it's not okay Harper. Look, I don't like being left out of whatever plans you relics are cooking up out there, all right?" He told her. Harper usually always involved him in plans or missions but now she was secretive as well as the others and Jason hated every second of it.
" You didn't miss anything Jay-bird." She said to the boy. Her eyes landed on the boy with vibrant green hair. " Gar, We need you." She told as the boy nodded before following the girl out of the training room.
Jason and Rachel watched the pair as the feeling of uneasiness and tension remained in the room.
Something way bigger than all of them was upon them. Something dire. Secrets were being kept that would unfold and cause major consequences upon the team, but they would only find out later rather than sooner.
" Dr. Light will need to refuel if he's planning another attack. He'll need a large electric power cell and a light source where he can absorb the energy." Dick told Harper and Gar as they tried to find a way to capture the villain and send his ass back to prison.
" So, monitor the power grids and keep an eye out for any unusual disturbances."
" We find where he's pulling the power from, we find him." Harper smirked. The boys nodded in agreement to her statement.
" Listen guys." Gar called out to them as they were about to leave.
" When you guys said that Dr. Light was broken out of prison, I did some investigating. He was aided in his escape but not by only one person."" What do you mean?" Harper asked as she looked at the younger boy with furrowed eyebrows. She glanced at Dick who wore a similar expression to hers at the revelation of new information.
" I pulled up the security footage of a nearby traffic light. There was another figure who was standing alongside him. He was covered in a hood, I couldn't see his face. All I'm saying, whoever broke out Dr. Light had more backup than we thought."
" Shit" Harper swore as she raked a hand through her hair. " Can't catch a break can we. Alright, Good work Gar" she said, patting his shoulder as the two adults left the young boy to find the escapee before he could do any more damage, while trying to uncover who this masked man was that helped Dr. Light escape.
