Blossom was sitting on the couch when we walked in. She threw herself into my arms as soon as she saw me.
"Did you hear?" She asked, "Scott says I'm cured."
"That's what he told us when you were still asleep." I said, "He does want to keep an eye on you though."
"I know but this is the best I've felt since before all the crazy happened." She said, "He had me try and talk to Harper, but she's pretty far gone."
Blossom told us about how her conversation went with Harper. The girl refused anything that might be able to help her, and Scott was now trying to find a way to slip things into her food. Or the other option was to tranquilize her food and just give her the shot, but he wanted her awake so he could monitor her and ask her questions. Harper was slipping further away from reality and had even requested another pillow, when Scott gave it to her she stuffed it under her shirt. She convinced herself that she was pregnant.
Blossom also filled us in on the tests Scott was running; right now he had one of the Red Eyes that were brought up chained securely so he could administer a rabies shot. The other he had in the other cell and had the temperatures set on the highest setting that the dome itself could go. His plan was if there was no results with that then he would turn the temperature as far down as the dome's settings could go. Blossom dragged us to the couch to sit with her.
"The girl in that cell really thinks she's pregnant?" Nolan asked.
"Yes she's flipping out about the twins being dead and the baby is all she has left." Blossom said, "I didn't know she was in love with the twins, I knew something was up but not this."
Scott came in carrying a tray full of things. Nolan jumped up to help him before he dropped something. They brought everything into the room Blossom told me he was setting up for her to use. She was glad she got to stay with Scott, she felt safe with him and they had developed a bond, he reminded her of her father. Scott seemed happy to have Blossom around, she was becoming his assistant and she had only been up and about for a few hours.
"You seem like you found a place to fit into here." I told her.
"It would seem so." Blossom said, "I just hope I can live up to the challenge."
"You'll do fine." I said, "You already seem to have a handle on things."
"That's the easy part; I'm good with figuring out how things need to be done and doing them." She said, "Just how I'm wired, my dad was like that too."
"Where is your dad?" I asked.
"I don't know I came with my mom and sister for a girl's vacation, my dad and my brother chose to go on a boy's camping trip." She said, "I know my mom and sister are dead, what hurts more is not knowing if my dad and brother are ok or if they're dead too."
Scott came back with Nolan and told us Blossom's room was all set up and ready for her. Blossom asked if I would stay with her, and Nolan asked if he could stay on the couch.
"When did my place become the cool place to be?" Scott asked.
"When we got stuck in dorms and you started finding cures." I said.
"Yes you can both stay but I want you to try and get Harper to talk to you again while I go and see how the subjects are doing." He said and headed back to the lab.
The three of us went to Harper's cell. She was sitting on her bed she still had the pillow Blossom was telling us about under her shirt. She looked up and saw us and she waved, smiling she came over to the glass.
"Hi how are you?" She asked.
"We're good, how are you?" I asked and looked over to Blossom who just shrugged and mouthed go with it to me.
