Sam made rounds to wake up every one for the run. He gave us half an hour to be ready and to meet him in the lobby. I quickly changed out my P.J.s for camo carpenter pants and a blue t-shirt. After sliding on the steel toe combat boots Drew provided for everyone on the supply run team I threw my hair into a bun and headed out to the lobby.
Sam and Leo were the only ones there so far. I sat in a chair by the couch they were sitting in.
"Morning Ash." Leo said.
"Morning." I said and Sam nodded.
"We have fifteenminutes before everyone else should be here." Sam said.
"We're not taking the helicopter are we?" I asked, I still couldn't get the image of Lilly just disappearing from the open door out of my head.
"No there's too many of us and if we find anyone or anything we won't have room." Leo answered, "We think we will take the bus you guys drove here, and it has the most room."
"That means I can nap while we're driving, right?" Aaron asked as he walked up to us. He looked like he hadn't slept much and was still wearing the blue jeans and black t-shirt from the day before.
"If you really wanted to, yeah." Sam answered as Micah, Sydney, and Tone joined us.
"Hunter and Drew went to grab water for us all." Micah said.
"So, princess is the one we're waiting for." Aaron said.
"You're not waiting for me, I'm right here." Diamond said as she walked up to us.
"We got water loaded onto the bus cart." Hunter told us from the front entrance.
We all followed him out and loaded onto the cart with Sam taking the driver's seat. Leo sat next to him. Drew came and sat in the seat next to me; he grabbed my hand and squeezed lightly. I smiled at him and noticed Diamond was glaring as she took the seat next to Hunter.
Scott was waiting for us by the bus when we got to the hospital parking lot. He was wearing some mint green scrubs and had a couple duffle bags by his feet.
"Good morning." He called to us when Sam parked.
"Morning Scott, what do you have there?" Tone asked.
"I put together a couple advanced first aid kits for you supply runners." Scott answered.
"Advanced?" Sydney asked.
"Yeah, there's all your stuff from a typical travel first aid kit, but I added more bandages, pain killers, and anything I could think of that might be handy in an emergency situation like the boat one." Scott answered, almost looking sheepish.
"That was some smart thinking; we never know what we will need." Sam said as he patted Scott on the shoulder, "Thanks Doc."
"Just doing what I can to help." Scott said.
"How's the testing coming by the way?" Sam asked.
"So far I'm not seeing anything that is actually helpful, I can separate out some of the infected cells, but it's hard to tell what the cause was with the Red Eye DNA samples." Scott answered, "I'm still working on it."
"After we finish this run would you want to take samples form Hannah and I, since we both got bit and didn't get infected?" Hunter asked.
"If you're both willing, yes and I would like some samples from people not bitten as well to see if I can see a difference in the blood." Scott answered.
"Consider it done once we get back." Sam told him as he picked up the two bags, "Let's load up everyone."
Everyone followed Sam into the bus to find that Scott had done more than just make us new first aid kits, he had made us breakfast burritos and they were all in a tray in the kitchen of the bus. Besides the insides of the bus looking like they'd been cleaned recently, nothing was different. Aaron elbowed me and when I looked at him he nodded in Diamond's direction. She was looking around the bus with disgust.
