Aru walked back to the room, the Sleeper's words still echoing in her brain. 'Reach his breaking point?' What did that mean? And how exactly was she supposed to do that?

Aru suddenly felt sick to her stomach. She hoped she didn't have to go back to interrogate Aiden- the boy, she corrected herself. While her father knew that Aru got the boy's name she couldn't say it. It would tell anyone who heard that she saw him as a human, not a prisoner.

Aru turned to hear Kara opening the door to her room. Kara's face was a mix of coldness and worry for her sister.

"The Sleeper want's you to interrogate him again."

Aru paced around the inside of her room like a tiger. Why was she chosen for it? Sure, she had gotten information, but didn't her father see that the boy would not talk? Aru slapped herself.

"Don't show compassion to the enemy!" It was Aru's biggest weakness, her father had told her, and he was right. Aru showed too much compassion. Sure, she could kill people in the blink of an eye and kidnap children without a second thought, but every time after, she found herself on the floor of her room crying to herself and squeezing her stress ball in an attempt to calm herself down. And the worst part was, everyone still kept pushing standards on her more and more and more until it left Aru with a feeling like the air being squeezed out of her lungs.

It was suffocating.

"Aru?" Kara said knocking on the open door of Aru's room. "You have to go now, sis."

As Aru walked to the cell with Kara, she kept imagining the boy's face, hardening with a look of contempt. She shuddered. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Kara looking at her with a worried expression.

"Sis, you're going to have to learn how to be a little less weak soon; I can't have the Sleeper hurt you too. Please."

Aru sighed, looking at the bare walls of the house.

"Just be ruthless this time. Don't let the prisoner hurt you, and do what you need to do to get the information we need," Kara said, leaving Aru at the door with a knife, another taser, and a small smile.

Aru took a deep breath and walked in.

She was met with a hostile glare. "Have you come here to interrogate me?" Aiden said, his voice so cold that Aru nearly shivered.

"Yes, in fact, I have" Aru said, fighting to keep her emotions from showing on her face.

She hated this.

Aru sat down, her features morphing into a smirk of indifference. If her father was right it would probably take a lot to get this boy to talk.

She could do this, right?

Seeming to be focused, she determined herself. She would to do this.

"Okay," Aru said as she twirled her knife "Here's the deal. For every question not answered here, your dear mother gets a knife to the skin." Aru's father didn't have Malini captured, but Aiden didn't need to know that. They'd found out from a spy that Malini was Aiden's mother, not aunt or family friend like they'd originally thought.

Aiden's eyes widened. "You can't! My mom is far away from here. You can't reach her in New York!"

"Hmm, New York, huh? Thanks for letting that slip, I could use it," Aru said as she walked away, until she heard a noise.

Aru turned around, expecting to see Aiden rocking his chair back and forth in an attempt to escape.

But she didn't expect five kids to be standing in the rubble of what used to be the wall.

"I told you this was the right place!" A little girl with a flower crown hissed.

"Well excuse me for not trusting you after last time's incident!" Gold-Streak said, snapping back at the girl"

Tie-Dye boy stopped them. "Guys? Can we find Aiden and go? now?"

Oh, they broke in for Aiden, Aru thought, debating on whether to run or attack. She slapped herself, hard, to get her mind out of the gutter, but she forgot that the crew of people were there.

Glasses girl looked at her and cursed, which was strangely jarring— the rest of the crew must have felt the same way because they all took a quick look at her and backed away, fast.

Aru looked at all of them and then at her knife.

She attacked.

Glasses ducked as Aru went to knock her out.

This isn't going to go well, she thought as Glasses managed to land a hit.

Aru jumped and took out the small-looking girl and Tie-Dye before she fell down, her head pounding, full of pain. She dimly heard Aiden say, "I got her," before blacking out.

Aru woke up to darkness. Confused, she tried to get up only to be met with a headache that probably came from hell itself.

Where am I? She thought.

Aru shook her head and struggled to her feet, knowing that she needed to get out from wherever she was. She reached for her taser or knife to find out that both were missing. Now she was panicking. Making up her mind, she searched for a crack; anything to get out from wherever she was.

Aru looked up, hearing a faint noise, only to be met with a dark shadow.
