Aru stumbled into the center of the sweaty gym gagging. The room was filled with sweaty teenagers- even kids! Aru didn't know that much about the workings of her gang- she wasn't the oldest after all, and yes she was a bit salty - but she knew this much. Her gang didn't recruit kids. How in the world had she ended up here anyway?

~~~~~~~flashback
"Oh come on Wolf" Aiden had said. "All you have to do is train a bit so you can complete your entrance exam. Then you can fight with us."
Aru had snorted at the irony of it all. They hadn't even gotten a confirmation from her that she would join, but they had assumed. and she would use it as an advantage.
"Wolf, why did you laugh? This is important!"
"Ok, fine, fine," Aru had laughed "-but honestly, do I really have to train?" This part wasn't acting, Aru really hated training, even though it was necessary, she just preferred to use words. they were precise, and if she wielded them right she could destroy the world. It was nice having the power.
"Yes, you do" said Aiden, pulling out a dagger "I suggest you train with the other kids, oh, and Brynne is training you."
"Who?"
"The girl with the gold streaks"
"Oh. Crap"
And so now Aru was stuck with a girl that probably hated- no, scratch that - definitely hated her.  She really wanted to jump out of a window right now.
The room was abuzz of people, all of them training in some way. Kids to adults, the room filled with various equipment, it was confusing and slightly scary, and on top of that she couldn't find her mentor.
Aru jumped as a very unhappy voice said "Well, I'll have to train is the enemy, the girl whose father started it all"
Aru glared at the gold-streaked girl "Where were you? And never mind that, I thought you were supposed to train  me, not throw insults at me"
The girl  whom Aru assumed was Brynne sighed and Aru swore she seemed to get more annoying every passing second.
       "Look, I don't want to be here, Aiden forced me to do this. let's get this over with, my name is Brynne and I already know your name, so you can go now and pretend I helped you with something"
       Oh, the audacity, Aru thought. If she could, she would end Brynne's little ego right then and there. But she had to lay low, let them underestimate her, in order to get out.
  "Now go away" Brynne said, angering her even more.
    "I think I'll stay here, thanks."
Aru was going to train alone anyway, but  Brynne was pushing it far, as if she were purposely angering Aru.
"Fine" Brynne said, standing up. She didn't seem happy and Aru wasn't either. "Let's fight, if you win, I'll teach you, with a weapon of your choice, and if you don't, then it's back to the prison cells."
The gym seemed to fall quiet and Aru noticed the tension in the room.
"Who's gonna win?"
  "Oh, it's the scum"
"Brynne is gonna win for sure"
"Who agrees that people like her should be beheaded?"
"Why is Brynne doing this anyway? The scum should just go."
