Aru had waited out the time till the practice session, pacing back and forth, before deciding on getting some rest. Her hands were healed, for the most part, and she'd been given a change of clothes, in the form of a black jacket, t-shirt, and jeans. Guess the Alus weren't too creative about their clothing choices either.
Before she called out lights out, Aru inspected her window. She hadn't gotten chance to look at the metal bars from when she was trying to slash them earlier. Upon a closer look, it looked as if that Aru had nearly cut through the whole of the metal barring. That's good, Aru thought. I can bust out of here tomorrow night, if I'm careful.
Aru breathed in. Now, to get a look at the courtyard.
Through the barring on the window, Aru could look at a good half of the courtyard. It was quite close to exit of the Alu complex. If she was sneaky enough, Aru could get to the exit within a matter of minutes, leaving the Alus none the wiser.
Sounds like a plan, me, Aru said to herself, laying down on her cot.
The last thing she saw before nodding off was a slashed metal window and a promise of escape.

Aru had awoken to many an unpleasant sound. What she did not expect to wake up to was the loud, unmistakable slam of... was that a cymbal?
Aru groaned, sitting up. "What is it?"
On second look, she spotted Aiden and Brynne leaning on the side of her doorframe. Luckily, they were at an angle where they could all but see the window. Aru was in the clear.
Aiden cleared his throat. "I'm not sure if you noticed, Wolf, but it's 9:45. You're due in the courtyard at 10."
Aru blinked. "Oh. Right."
Brynne sighed. "We'll leave you to it. Be sure not to take too long or I won't hesitate to bail."
Aru rolled her eyes. She saw Brynne and Aiden turn and around and leave her cell. She breathed a sigh of relief.
Aru hopped out of her cot, and freshened up as much as she could. She smoothed back her puffy hair and scrubbed the grime off her face. Aru walked out of the room hastily, making it to the courtyard at 9:58. Two minutes early.
Aiden and Brynne were already there. Two... sticks? Yeah, they were sticks. Two sticks sat on the pavement near the two Alus.
Brynne shoved one of the sticks into Aru's hands, and took the other for herself.
Aru gestured awkwardly with it. "This.. isn't a mace?"
"Well, not right now, it isn't." Aiden said, as if it made perfect sense.
Aru felt highly befuddled. "Elaborate?"
Aiden gestured to Brynne. "Bee, show her."
Brynne nodded, and made a lightning fast swing. All at once, the stick, folded out and expanded on itself. Aru watched in shock and awe. The metal pulled out to almost three times its earlier size. Once the transformation was complete, Aru couldn't deny it: that stick was definitely a mace.
Brynne looked to Aru. "You try it, Wolf."
Aru swung her stick, and watched as it expanded and folded out into a golden mace, perfect for clubbing down windows and whatnot.
On a second take, however, Aru felt the weight of the weapon, and nearly dropped it in the process.
Brynne snickered.
