Chapter 1

My mom parks the scion and i slowly open the door. I look at my old crush's Grandparents house. His car was there.

I shake my head and open the door. My grandma looks up from her hands and smiles.

"Hailey!" She exclaims and hugs me.

"We better go....." my mom states.

"Ok, just call me sometime" i wink at her and she leaves. I set my suitcase down and sit on the couch, i couldn't believe this was happening. My mom moved me from my school for a year and I'm living with my grandparents!

I was 15 and my mom was taking my brother to a collage and staying with him for a while. So I'm stuck here spending a high school year here. My grandpa slowly walks in and i sigh and look down at my phone.

"Are you hungry?"

"No"

"You okay? You start school tomorrow"

"I know"

"Okay then"

The door bell suddenly rings and i get up. I jog to the door and a boy my age with spiked brownish carmel hair is standing at the door with a bag. I open the door and he smiles.

"Hey, Mrs-" he looks up and his gaze meets mine.

Colby Fredrick

He was my old crush from 4th grade and i was spooked, he looked great now.

"Hailey?" He starts and i shut the door.

"Yea, from 4th grade. Yep. Couldn't forget the jerk you were" i smirked and he looks at his hand......

"Relax. What's up?"

He just stands there looking at his hands like they were something magical.

*Colby's P.O.V.*

"Relax. What's up?" She says and i don't look up.

Just hand her the freaking bag. Just do it. I look up and study her. She still had brown hair, hazel eyes and the same tan. But she wore makeup and she looked great now. She was wearing skinny jeans with a sweatshirt.

"How long are you staying?"

"A year"

"Oh. Well, Mrs. Kunkel has a gift from my grandmother" i stutter. It's not like she still has feelings for me, and i don't for her. I just think she looks good.

"Well thanks Colby. I'll see you tommorow? Maybe we have a class together?" She flashes me a smile as I give get the bag. She then shuts the door and i stand there for a minute.

Did that seriously happen?
