Ashton: The fact that you had to share showers with everyone else on your dorm floor kind of creeped you out, but you had to shower, even if it meant having a weird walk-in on someone here and there. Thankfully, one of those walk-ins hasn’t happened to you, but you could count the horror stories on two hands. When you walked into the rather large bathroom you were surprised to not hear one peep. It was completely empty and you were mentally cheering that you got it all to yourself. You took off your robe and hung it on the hook right outside the beige curtain, your towel hanging next to it. Setting up your shower caddy on the small shelf in the corner, you were sucking in the solitude. Being around so many people on the floor can sometimes be overbearing, so the silence comes in handy. When you started the shower it was such a nice feeling, the water trickling down your body, it was so soothing it made you close your eyes to enjoy it more. In the midst of the nice day dream, the door to the bathroom creaked open, startling your eyes wide open. Your body stiffened up as the sound of flip-flops trudged over to the shower next to you. Once you heard the shower turn on you were able to ease up, realizing the person probably just had the same idea as you, rather than pull a hideous prank like you’ve heard happen. Since someone else was with you, your hopes of a quiet, lonesome shower was quickly pushed away. You finished up rinsing the conditioner from your hair and shut the water off, forcing a chill to run up your spine from the immediate change in temperature. Humming to yourself, you weren’t really paying attention, sticking your hand and snatching up a towel, wrapping it around your hair, taking your robe and tying it around your body. You left the shower and went to the counter of sinks in front of mirrors, putting on your face lotion. “Um, I think you have my towel.” The figure who was in the shower next to you had his head popped out of the shower curtain. You didn’t recognize him from the floor, but there were so many people you didn’t know half of them. You looked at him in the mirror, your cheeks flushing pink, “Oh, what?” You didn’t catch it the first time. He chuckled, “I think you have my towel.” He peered to his right where your towel was still hanging. It clicked in your head that you reached to the wrong side of hooks and grabbed his towel by accident. “I didn’t even realize,” You laughed, more at yourself, “Sorry.” He exited the shower wearing the towel around his waist and giving you the moment to admire his toned pecks and torso. “Don’t worry, I’ll wash it before I give it back.” He was smirking and before he walked out of the bathroom he shot you a wink and you could feel yourself burning up with embarrassment.
Michael: Your friend had called you from work asking if you could pick up her shift at the diner since she was sick. Being the good friend that you were, and figuring that in the future she would take one of your unwanted shifts. The day had been slow, only a few tables here and there, nothing to make a living off of compared to other times when the dining room would be packed and you’d be running around like a mad person trying to fulfill everyone’s orders. With today seeming to be the opposite of that, you were taking your time with each table that you got, trying to talk them up for them to give you a good tip without actually saying the words. For your fifth table of the day—even though it was already 3 o’clock and your shift started at 12—they were heavy drinkers, every time you would turn around their cups would be only filled with ice. Filling up two pitchers, one with water and the other with iced tea, you strolled back over to the table and refilled their drinks. They thanked you, but when you went to turn around someone was walking in your path of direction, making you completely bump into them and spilling both of what was left in your pitchers on them. You were shocked, your mouth dropped to the floor, “Oh my god. I am so sorry!” You snatched the napkins off the table you were waiting on and started dabbing the man’s shirt, dabbing all the way down to the top of his jeans where the liquid had spilled all the way down. You didn’t even realized what you were doing, your arms were moving faster than your brain could correlate the action as you were executing it. You were dabbing right at his crotch and he began coughing uncomfortable. Around you, you could hear the snickers from people who were laughing and whispering about how much of a fool you were making about yourself. “I’m so sorry.” You were rambling, repeating the same words over and again. He coughed one more time, and for some reason it was the only one that caught your attention. You stopped dabbing his pants and looked up at him. His lips were folded inward and his eyebrows were lifted. “Oh…” You started, standing up straight and clutching the napkins in your hand. “I’m sorry.” You told him once again and he laughed. Michael told you it was fine, just as long as you were able to buy him a drink or two later.
Luke: Your job was quite stupid. Stocking shelves in the department store wasn’t exactly ideal, but it did give you a paycheck every two weeks. The good thing was you manager didn’t mind if you listened to music as long as your headphones were small and unnoticeable and you would get your job done. As you stood in the isle with a box of school supplies that needed put back in their place, you readied your music and put on your playlist you dedicated just for this moment, when you would need to get lost in your music and forget that you were at work. At the top of every hour of your 7 hour shift, your manager would check on you and bring over another box of items to stock, so the work wasn’t getting done anytime soon. You were moving on quite quickly though, getting through the boxes one after the other. You blamed it on the music pouring into your ears, not in a bad way like how you blame someone else for something to avoid getting in trouble, more like a silent thank you for having the music keep your concentration. When the next song came on, Since You Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson, your inner rock star came out and you started tapping your foot along and bobbing your head as you were filing pictures frames on the shelves. The song was so catchy, and such a classic, that it was hard to keep still. A sudden tap on your shoulder scared your heart to a halt, making you jump and turn around to see someone laughing hysterically. Pulling out your small white headphones you gave the person a look that read,“Why the hell would you do that?” “Do you know you were singing out loud with your headphones?” “Was I?” You winced, swinging your earphones around your two fingers. “Yeah, you were. Pretty loudly too. I’m surprised someone else hadn’t told you.” By the tone of his voice you knew you were singing pretty badly. “Oh god…” Rubbing your forehead, you looked down at your feet, “I’m so embarrassed.” Your cheeks were a harsh red and all you could do was laugh at yourself while the person who scared you chuckled as well. “Well thank you for saving me from horrid, horrid embarrassment.” You told him with a sympathetic smile. He smirked, “No problem. Hope to hear you again some time.”
Calum: On this morning you were going at quite a fast pace down the sidewalk while a man, who seemed to have the same idea as you, was walking toward you. His dog looked like a mix of sorts, maybe a bit of pit-bull in there, it was too hard to tell. You grinned at him, doing your civilian duty of being nice to your neighbor, even if you weren’t sure who he was. Both of your dogs were eager to know one another right away. Maisey was pulling you along—for a puppy she was quite strong—to get closer and you laughed as his dog was doing the same to him. “I think our dogs like each other.” He laughed, glancing down with happy eyes at the dogs sniffing one another like their noses were about to fall off. Unintentionally, you were staring at the man, who was young and his biceps told you that he worked out enough times during the week. “Yeah,” You chuckled, shaking your head and blinking your eyes a few times to regain the point of your morning, “It looks like they do.” You were grinning. “Do you live around here?” He asked, pulling on his leash and you admired the veins in his arms. You nodded in reply, happening to look down at the same time his dog started humping your dog. His cheeks flushed with embarrassment for his dog as he bent down to pull him away, “No, Scruff, no!” He exclaimed, yanking his dog away from Maisey. You reached down and pulled up your puppy, chuckling at the moment and how frustrated the other dog’s owner was looking. “God, I’m so sorry.” He was shaking his head. But all you could do was laugh, “Your dog is quite forward.” You told him smirking, “Maybe next time he can take her on a date first.” He ran his tongue along his teeth and chuckled, “Yeah, maybe he will.” The two of you shared a smirk before you started your walk back up with a cumulative silence that said “Hope to see you again tomorrow.”
