Alex's P.O.V.

It's so nice waking up to no alarm. This is the first weekend that I've been here where I can lay in bed for as long as I want. Before, I would have to go help unpack but we finally finished that earlier in the week. I look over to my phone next to my bed to check the time. It's just past 11am. It feels really good to have had such a long sleep but at the same time it's making me feel really lazy.

I head downstairs after jumping out of bed and go and eat some cereal. I expected to see my mum but instead was a note left in the table,

Alex
I have gone out to the supermarket. You were still sleeping and didn't want to wake you. Should be back around 3.

Back around 3? I'm glad she didn't take me, I hate shopping. And she must be having a pretty big shop if she's going to be that late back.

After eating some cereal and watching a bit of TV I head upstairs to get a shower and put on some clothes. I couldn't be bothered making an effort because I wasn't planning on going out today so I just settled on some comfy clothes; black leggings and a blue hoodie.

I walked over to my window to roll up my blinds when I noticed Calum. He was walking away from Ashton's house looking quite angry. Just as I was about to walk away from the window he looked up at me. I quickly moved to the side but I'm pretty sure he saw me. I started thinking about what he said yesterday when I heard a knock at the door.

"Hi. Erm do you want to come in?" I awkwardly said as Calum stood at my door smiling.

"Okay, thanks." He said as he took off his shoes at the door.

"You can keep your shoes on you know. I hardly ever take mine off." I told him starting to laugh which made him laugh too.

"You don't have shoes on right now." He said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes at him and offered him a drink in the kitchen.

"This is a really nice place." He said as I filled his glass at the tap.

"Thanks. My mum wasn't planning on getting such a big house but somehow we ended up buying it. It feels weird without my dad. They split up before we left and he ran away with some younger woman." I tell him. There was a short silence before he spoke again.

"You probably saw me walking out of Ashtons' a minute ago." He says. I don't really want to agree so I try to lie.

"No." Is all I manage to say. It was pretty unconvincing.

"You don't have to lie." He told me as he looked at me with his big dark eyes.

"You looked pretty angry." I admitted. I really hoped they hadn't been arguing because of me.

"I was. I told him to stay away from you." As soon as he said that my eyes immediately rolled and a huge sense of anger took over me. Why does he keep getting involved?

"Why did you come here?" I asked him trying not to raise my voice.

"To tell you what I've told you before. Look, I know you've started talking and seem to be friends but please just don't get too attached to him." He tells me looking genuinely worried. I'm still angry with him though.

"Why though? Unless you actually give me a reason not to, then why should I listen to you? Why should I trust you?" I asked him. I could tell he was trying to keep me as calm as possible but it clearly wasn't working.

"I can't tell you I'm just trusting you to trust me. I should go now. Thanks for letting me in." He quickly said as he rushed out the door.

Calum's P.O.V.

How the hell am I supposed to tell her? I want her to like me but I just seem to be pushing her away. It might not be so hard for her to understand if Ashton and I weren't the only ones who talk to her. At the same time I'm trying to talk to Ashton about it and I might end up losing him to. I know exactly what he's capable of because I've seen him do it before and it ruined my girlfriends life. Well my ex-girlfriend now.

Everyone thinks Ashton is so nice and to be honest, he is. He would be if it wasn't an act. We've been friends for as long as I can remember and that's why I understand him. I knew what he used to do was wrong but when he did it to my girlfriend, that's when I fell out with him. After a long time I forgave him and he said he'd never do it again but the way he acts around Alex is exactly how he acted around my ex.

My house is only a 20 minute drive from Alex's. I didn't actually realise she lived there until I saw her waving at me the other day from her window. She seems like such a lovely girl, I don't want her making a mistake and getting hurt because of it.
