One day, Kambe Daisuke and Katou Haru are assigned to patrol around Haru's old apartment, sharing with Hoshino Ryo and Kamei Shinnosuke. That day there was a celebration that made several regions and cities free from their activities, both work and school. The streets of the city became crowded and filled with various people walking around and enjoying the holidays and celebrations together.

The two of them stopped at a park not far from the residential area. They heard a muffled cry there. It made them not hesitate to see what was going on and who was crying.

They blinked several times when they saw a boy, with dark brown hair that seemed to be a combination of Haru's light brown hair and Daisuke's black hair. The two of them looked at each other before approaching.

Daisuke left it to Haru, who is usually close to children. "Um... are you okay?"

The boy, who had been crying, raised his face. He looked at Haru who smiled at him while stretching out his hand.

"My name is Katou Haru. What is your name?"

The boy blinked a few times before making a sound. "Yuki." Haru and Daisuke looked at each other. They were a little surprised that the boy didn't mention his family name and only his name.

"Yuki-kun why are you here alone? Why are you crying?"

The boy, Yuki, didn't answer. He looked up, stared at Daisuke who was staring at him with a flat expression, before getting up from where he was sitting. Haru saw him running and hugging Daisuke's leg. Of course, its surprised Daisuke who was usually unfamiliar with small children.

The two of them looked at each other, especially Daisuke didn't know how to deal with children and why the boy named Yuki chose him over Haru.

"Yuki-kun...?"

But the grip tighter on Daisuke's legs. He buried his face in the middle. Haru shrugged as Daisuke frowned in confusion. The black man sighed softly before patting the boy's head.

"Instead of hugging me, how about you just hold my hand?" Daisuke's words made Yuki look up. "My name is Kambe Daisuke." The boy blinked before nodding.

He released his hug on Daisuke's leg and raised a hand to him. Daisuke widened his eyes as the boy did not hesitate to follow his request, before the black man gave up and grabbed his hand.

Haru smiled at the two before making a sound. "How about we try to take it to the nearest police station?" Daisuke turned to the brown man.

"We ask whether this child is a lost child or what else?"

The two of them who went to the police station took Yuki, a boy who was crying alone in a park, received information from one of the security guards that an orphan had gone missing from an orphanage. They were quite surprised to hear that but still brought the boy back to where he was.

The orphanage is not far from the park that Yuki visited alone. After dropping him off and Haru and Daisuke seeing the many children there, Haru heard a story about Yuki and his parents where Daisuke accompanied Yuki and the others to play together.

"Yuki-kun is an orphan since he was a baby."

Haru widened his eyes. "We found him left right in front of the door of this orphanage. We were also very surprised."

One of the caretakers of the orphanage touched her face. "Yuki-kun didn't cry, and we were worried that he didn't grow well and was not well taken care of. Even after growing up, Yuki didn't talk much and rarely showed his emotions."
