A few day pass again as it got colder by every day that passed. Ni-Ki still avoided the girl as she slowly lost hope. School still went on but a few weeks more and then there would be holidays.

„You should get over him" Junghwan said, as Y/N looked at him disappointed.

„I would but it's not easy" She said,a bit offended while folding her arms together.

Her best friend sighed as he closed the book he was reading and turned his side to face her.

„I think I am gonna tell you a bit more" He put book on the side, confusing the girl.

„What do you mean?" The girl questioned as he shook his head.

„How should I start?" He paused, thinking.

„Ni-Ki and me were really close friends back then" He said as Y/N chocked on her saliva, widening her eyes. She couldn't believe what she heard from her own ears and didn't know how to process it.

„Well...not until Jungwon came...because of him Ni-Ki and ne started speaking and playing together less and at the end I only saw him with Jungwon" He bitterly chuckled at the end as his best friend felt bad for him and gently patted his shoulder, telling him it's alright to be sad.

„That's why you don't like him, right?" The girl asked as he slightly nodded with a sad face expression.

The teens continued to talk while Junghwan let everything out as hot tears streamed down his way and Y/N gently whipped them away, however suddenly she recalled a scenario as she froze on her spot.

„Y/N" The boy sniffed. „You can let go" He continued and finally she let go, gasping surprised.

„Oh my-I am sorry!" She said a bit embarrassed, wanting to slap herself mentally.
Her best friend didn't really care since they knew eachother for a long time and we're comfortable with eachother too. Also Y/N just saw him as a big brother and a friend who protects her.

„Are you okay though?" Junghwan questioned rather worried. He definitely knew that she was thinking about something but didn't know what.

To add something, someone was watching them from afar, sighing as he clutched his heart.
His heart pained after seeing the view. Why was the world being so cruel to him?

„They aren't dating" Jungwon said, patting his best friend's shoulder. He felt bad for his friend, however he had his reasons and only wanted to protect him from what god knows.

„Sure" Ni-Ki said, rolling his eyes and afterwards walking away as the older boy sighed. It wasn't easy for him too, seeing his best friend hurt but as the oldest he is like a leader to the younger one's and needs to protect them at all costs.

School ended and almost everyone went home, however Y/N still stayed in school because she studied for the upcoming exams.

While walking to the library someone unexpected approached.

„Y/N!" The boy yelled trough the hallways as she recognized the voice and looked at the reaction. The unique vice belonged to the one and only Jungwon who stopped infront of her, not showing hand signs of panting.

‚How isn't he out of breath' She thought, raising her eyebrow at the boy who innocently smiled at her. But after knowing the story between him and Junghwan she got a bit sceptical about him.

„Um...hello Jungwon" Y/N akwardly greeted, not knowing what to do or say, however she was still interested on why Jungwon wanted to talk with her.

„Do you have time right now? It's really important, please!" He showed his puppy eyes as the girl tried to look away.

„Come on!" He gently shook her arm as she sighed in defeat.

„Make it quick, okay?" She said while Jungwon smiled widely, showing off his cute dimples.

Jungwon that lead her outside the school, stopping at an empty place.

„It's about Ni-Ki" He started. Just hearing his name made the girl listen carefully to every single word and curios too.

„So, I think you already know that Junghwan and me have a not so good past" He continued, taking the girl off guard. The boy secretly eavesdrop the conversation from the best friends.

„Um yeah...how did you know?" She questioned curiously, raising her eyebrow.

„I know him and you are his best friend. Anyways right now Ni-Ki is doing well because his mother somehow changed" He said as Y/N sighed in relieve. Hearing those words made her happy but sad at the same time.

‚Atleast he is happy now' She showed a fake smile, however couldn't hide the pain in her eyes. Looked like Ni-Ki was better without, right?

„Hey, you okay?" Jungwon asked as the girl nodded.

They then continued to talk together. Mostly Jungwon started with smaller questions the get the girl's trust. Of course Y/N was being careful, especially after what Junghwan has told her and it was suspicious that the older boy wanted to talk to her.

„So, do you know anything about Junghwan's parents?" He asked her, taking her off guard.

„Why do you ask?" She asked back.

„Just curios" He said in a low tone. Looked like his plan didn't work really well. The boy scolded himself mentally for not asking the girl earlier.

‚She is being careful, I see...' Jungwon thought.
