"You need some company?"

I turn around at the sound of his voice.

Jaeden.

"Uh sure, I'm not doing anything all that important though," I say, motioning for him to stand next to me.

"So..what's up?" He asks, placing both his hands on the banister, and looking at me with those bright blue eyes.

"Oh not much, just thinking about stuff..what about you? Why'd you come out here?" I respond. Pease say to check on me, please say to check on me, please say to check on me...

"You just seemed out of it, I wanted to make sure you were okay."

Ohmygodohmggodohmygod

"Really? Thank you.." I smile, try my very hardest not to blush, and look off into the sunset, "I'm just thinking about how high school is almost over. Liam and Jessica have been my best friends forever, and these are my last few years with them. Plus..what about you guys..?"

"I mean I can understand that..I'm pretty scared of growing up too. I guess I've always got acting, but what if people only like me now because I'm young? Getting big roles in stuff might get a whole lot harder soon..I haven't really thought about what's going to happen to us after we leave though. We've just been so busy," The sky is a mix of pale pink and orange, making whatever he says seem much more dramatic. Also: US? It's so weird to talk to a guy who actually listens when you talk too...

"Jaeden. You're an amazing actor, that won't change, especially with age. You'll just learn more and get better. Don't even worry about all that future stuff, I have a feeling you'll be more then fine. I guess all of us can stay in touch somehow?" I say, trying to make eye contact again. He seems really lost in his own head, I just wish I knew what he was really thinking about.

"Yeah, yeah of course..."

"Jaeden?"

"Yeah?"

"Everything's going to be fine, I promise," I place my hand on his arm and squeeze. It's the least I can do. He just nods. A few minutes pass, and just as I'm about to make some dumb excuse to go back inside, he smiles at me, and squeeze my arm back.

"Things will be fine for you too, y/n."

And just like that, my stomach erupts in butterflies.
