Of Her Corrupted Throne

Chapt. 5 - This is New

On Queeny's third visit after arrival, she noticed that Evander wasn't there at the gate to greet her again. She asked around to see where he was, the army training grounds.

There he was, doing the obstacle course with the soldiers.

          "I told you that you would need to get used to this."

          General Ciel walked up from behind her and stood beside her. "I don't think he'll be doing anything else. He's quite muscular at this point, yet he still continues to push himself."

          Queeny looked up at Ciel with no expression on her face, he looked back down at her. "If it's what I have to do...I'll do it."

Almost a year has passed by, Queeny has been visiting the Gray Kingdom each day. As usual, Queeny made her way to the army training grounds.

           Of course, there he was, doing the same thing as always. She took a deep breath and let it out before standing beside the General once again. "Hello again, miss." Queeny looked up at Ciel and greeted him back. "Hello, General. I see your soldiers are working hard again, especially Evander.."

          Ciel looked down at her and back at his soldiers. "You know, they're going to be taking a break during the winter. Of course, there will still be training but it will be shorter. It might give you the chance to spend some time with him."

         Queeny quickly looked up at him eagerly, holding back a smile.

          It was early December, and just like Ciel said, they had taken a shorter amount of time for training.

          After they were all finished, Queeny noticed that Ciel had glanced over at her for just a split second. Queeny thought nothing of it and went straight for Evander, he happened to be walking and talking with a girl from his army.

Evander noticed Queeny heading his way and quickly signaled Rosaline to not be suspicious.

  "Hello there, Queeny!" Evander greeted her charmingly and enthusiastically. "Hello, Evander. Is this a friend of yours?" Rosaline blinked and looked down at Queeny.

She was trying to pull herself together and bowed too quickly and said, "Hello Princess I'm R- ACK!!" She accidentally head butted Queeny. "OH NO- are you okay??? I'm so sorry!!"

There was a moment of silence for a second and Evander facepalmed. But then they heard a giggle, a chuckle, a full on laugh. Evander and Rosaline looked up, it was Queeny who had been laughing. "There's no need to be so nervous. I'm merely a person, just the same as you. Rosaline was your name?" Queeny finally said after calming down.

Rosaline was flustered from embarrassment and nodded. Rosaline realized that not once has she seen Evander and Queeny together. She felt a bit guilty at the fact that he spent his time with her instead of his fiancée.

  "Ah! You must be here for Prince Evander! Come to think of it, you two haven't been doing anything together at all since the engagement!" Evander looked a bit nervous and he was looking around, trying to look oblivious. But then he spotted General Ciel, who was observing their interactions.

Evander then slowly looked away from him and back to the girls. "Well, I wouldn't want to ruin your time together. But I would love to know more about the prince. You both seem to be quite close with each other!" Queeny said with a smile.

Evander thought that it would be time for him to jump in before anything happened. Even though it was actually quite calm. "How about! Queeny and I walk about the garden!..we'll catch up another time, Rosaline."

Queeny looked up at Evander and took her hand and led her to the garden.

Queeny was never taken to the garden before. Evander never mentioned it at all.
