"Mind if we have a little chat?"

Rosaline moved aside to let General Ciel in the room. He walked in then closed the door gently.

"What do you want to talk about, General?" She asked nervously, but kept her cool. "It's about Evander and Queeny." He was quite straightforward in his answer.

"You shouldn't address them so informally! General, if someone were to hear you address them like that you'd get a minor punishment but still a punishment-" "and who's around to hear me?" Rosaline stopped and looked around the room, she sighed.

          "No one.."

"Do you understand, Rosaline?" Ciel asked her in a solemn tone. "Yes, sir. I'll do what I can." Rosaline replied. "Don't do what you CAN, just DO it." Rosaline flinched and nodded.

Ciel took his leave and closed the door behind him, heading back to the dining hall. Rosaline got herself together and left for the dining hall shortly after.

When the two made it back, some of the soldiers teased them. "And where were you two for the past half hour?" "What about the handsome Prince Evander eh? Rosa?" "Isn't our general quite close with the princess?"

Rosaline grew nervous as Ciel walked past her and slammed the table, causing the entire hall to be silent. Ciel had a serious look on his face and glared at them all. "I will tell you this once, nothing happened and nothing will ever happen between Rosaline and I. We will not be in any kind of contact as you all describe and think of. Say anything of the sort involving the both of us and I be sure that YOU don't see the light of day again."

Everyone went back to chatting with each other after Ciel calmed down. Rosaline sat with the others and continued on like nothing happened.

It's been almost 2 and a half hours since the prince and princess went off together.

Then, one of the doors of the dining hall opened, Evander and Queeny were laughing together as they walked in. "And my aunt was about to take a bite of the cookie I made. So I started giggling, and as soon as she started chewing I said 'Aunty! That cookie was made of the horse's dung!' She was furious!" Queeny started laughing again. "You were quite the mischievous one weren't you, Evander?"

Ciel looked over at the two as he stood leaning on a pillar. His gaze leaned more towards the little lady in black, Queeny. Ciel realized that he had started to stare and looked away quickly.

"Are you and Rosaline best friends?" Evander looked down at her with a smile, Rosaline was nearby and listened in. Ciel couldn't help but eavesdrop. "Best friends? She's more like.." Rosaline listened closer. "Like a little sister!"

Rosaline went back to her friends and stopped listening. Ciel noticed, but he continued to listen either way.

"Ooh I see! You two must be very close indeed then!" Evander nodded.

********************************************

It was now a late evening, and it was time for Queeny to leave. Evander saw to it that she got to her carriage safely. "Thank you for today! I had fun." Queeny looked up at Evander and gave him a smile. "Thank you too! It was of most fun today." Evander smiled back at her.

They stood for a moment of awkward silence. Queeny gave Evander a tight hug, which startled him. He realized what was happening and hugged her back tightly. "See you tomorrow!" She let go and ran to her carriage. "See you." They waved goodbye to each other, and Queeny was off.

Evander sighed, and he went back into the castle. He had been looking down at the ground as he walked and suddenly bumped into someone.

"Ah! Excuse me, sorry." He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked up. General Ciel? "May I talk to you? In a private area?" Evander looked around and nodded.

Ciel led him to his office and sat him down.

"What did you wish to talk about?" Evander asked. "I've been thinking about this for a while now, Prince Evander. And I want to address this matter once and for all." Ciel looked directly at his eyes, Evander felt a bit nervous and gulped.

"Y-Yes..?" He managed to answer ever so quietly.

"Do you..love Princess Queeny? Do you even really care about her?" Evander sat up in his chair, and watched as Ciel fidgeted with his quill.

"Of course! Why wouldn't I care about her, she's my fiancée after all." Ciel set the quill down and put his hand on the desk.

"You don't act like it." Ciel said bluntly.

"But I spent most of my time with her today! We had fun, she had fun!" Ciel stopped Evander there, and he said, "Today you had fun. Today you spent most of your time with her. What about all those other days? She's been here for almost a year and just from one day you say you love and care about her? Or do you just say that because you don't want her to know something?"

Evander grew fidgety, playing with the cuffs of his sleeves and glancing back and forth between the General and the furniture within the room. He was very nervous now, so Ciel just sighed. "You've been neglecting your fiancée for a long time you know. I suggest that you get yourself together. This conversation is over." Evander stood up and left without hesitation.

Evander went straight for his bedroom and locked himself in. He took off his jacket, throwing it to the side somewhere, and sat on his bed.

What am I doing? He's never spoken to me like that..why is it that now that girls are involved..he wants to talk to me? What's he trying to say..what's he trying to do..

He brushed his hair back with his hand and sighed. I'm a mess aren't I..

Queeny looked out her window and stared into the distance. "I look forward to tomorrow,
Evander."
