banri couldn't care less if the door shut itself close on his way in. he was exhausted.

work tired him out more than usual, maybe it was the the quotidian practices that stretched out longer than it was supposed to, maybe it was how he missed his family; perhaps both.

banri stopped dead in his tracks as he noticed the furniture was shoved to the side of the living room. the kids were sleeping since it's way past their bedtime already.

it was only now when banri took note of the absence of light in the living room, the whole place was lit up by the flames of scattered candles. their turntable was running a vinyl record on the side.

music started to envelope the otherwise quiet room, banri felt [name]'s hands on his coat, aiding him to remove the said article of clothing.

"welcome home." [name] greeted with her smile that banri never seems to get tired of.

"damn, ya did all of this for me?" banri asked, raising an eyebrow. [name] chuckled as she took banri's hand in hers.

"sure did. you deserve everything, love." was the last thing banri heard from [name] before she placed her hand on his shoulder.

banri knew what do to next, he took her hand in his as they swayed to the music running on the background.

banri heard [name] sigh with contentedness as she put her head on his chest.

banri felt giddy, like a teenage school girl with how fast his heart was beating. he wonders if [name] could feel it, if [name] was feeling the same too.

the flames on the candle wicks danced along to them as the wind slightly blew from the window. the moon was their only witness tonight.

they danced for as long as they can remember, enjoying the peace and the romantic ambient of the evening.

soon enough, they stood still in the middle of their lounge, just holding each other in their arms.

banri combed through [name]'s hair as the latter rested her head on his chest, standing still and just embracing him tight.

[name] was close enough to him, close enough to smell the faint strawberry scent of her chapsticks, the faint vanilla smell on her hair.

to banri she was the personification of the word sweetness, of perfectness.

banri still couldn't believe that this girl he fell for oh so deeply was his. [name] is his wife.

everything felt like a perfect dream he wouldn't wish of waking up anytime soon.

banri doesn't know how long they've been standing there but he wishes to stay like that forever, even if forever is just for now.
