I Matter Because

Because while the time it’s frozen,
I listen to the sound of the silence,
Telling me that I should have care.

Care before, but I realize now,
How important I am to me,
While with you I couldn’t see it.

While I remember people telling me how bright I am,
I remember you telling me that I was nothing without you,
Because I couldn’t see what I did matter before.

I see it now with my both eyes wide open,
I matter because I have feelings,
I matter because I’m a  bigger person than you ever be.

I matter because I can make somebody’s day better,
I matter because I know how to listen,
I matter because I’m a human being.

I matter because I’m me,
Because I like to be me,
Even if you don’t like it.

Because I stop caring for the whispers,
The whispers around me,
Whispers that scare you.

Because you want to fit,
In a place that it’s no made for you,
In a place that tears you apart.

You end up faking it all,
Because you don’t think anybody matters but you,
But we do, all of us matter.

I learn it the hard way,
Here I am building myself
I won’t let you break me again.
