Taehyung stood ready with his suitcase in hand, all the children were slowly making their way into the bus while the teachers were counting and checking who had already arrived.
Taehyung put his suitcase away before stepping into the bus. According to his calculations there shouldn't be any seats empty with the two classes. Taehyung saw too many faces he couldn't recognize so he pulled up the list. "Is Hendrick here yet?" Taehyung's voice boomed over the small children's voices. "I'm here sir!" A small head peaked above the seat, Taehyung striped him off. The only one of his class still missing was... John.
"Is John here?"
"No sir, we haven't seen him yet." Taehyung mentally cursed, John was known to just skip out or show up last minute. "Okay, we're only missing John, how about the other class?"
"We're missing a few... plus our teacher." Taehyung's head piped up. "Mister Jeon isn't here?"
"No sir." Taehyung put his papers down before exiting the bus. A few kids ran up to the bus, hands full with their luggage. Taehyung stopped them all. "Class of Mister Jeon?"
"Yes sir."
"Do you know where Mister Jeon is?"
"No sir." Taehyung sighed before signaling the kids to enter. Taehyung had even warned him multiple times that this was happening and he still had the guts to not be here?
The bus driver started getting impatient, glaring at Taehyung who still stood outside of the bus. "We have to leave don't we?" The bus driver didn't utter a word, just simply nodded. Taehyung looked back once before sighing and stepping in. "I'll do one more head count okay?"
At this point Taehyung was just trying buy more time, the man waved him off. Taehyung grabbed the papers back up, counting all of his students before asking the remaining students who they were and if they were perhaps missing someone.
Loud footsteps were heard on the steps of the bus, Taehyung whipped around to swing at whoever the intruder was before he saw who it was. "Why are you so late?" Jungkook held onto a chair, heaving for air. "My- car didn't.... start, I... Had to, run... here." Jungkook managed to pant out. Taehyung grabbed Jungkook's suitcase and stuffed it away. "Quickly check if all your students are here, we need to leave." Jungkook quickly did a headcount and sat down satisfied. "We can leave." Jungkook said, sitting down next to Taehyung in the front.
"So we're really going to responsible for 48 children for three days?" Jungkook whispered. "We have a few volunteers helping us when we're there, don't worry." Jungkook let out a relieved sigh. "Okay, good."
"Mister Kim do you want to play a game?" One of his students called out from the back. "What game?"
"Truth or Dare!"
"....That better be Truth or Truth because you aren't allowed to stand up while we're driving."
"But-"
"It's basic rules."
"Teachers are always walking in the bus!"
"We are responsible for each and every one of you, we can't let you get hurt. Us on the other hand, can."
"I'd rather not get hurt though, so don't call me back there." Jungkook remarked, making a few students snicker. Taehyung rolled his eyes in annoyance before looking back at the students. "Play a game that involves staying seated."
"SNOG, MARRY, KILL!" A girl loudly exclaimed. "Okay yeah! Mister Kim! Snog, marry, kill...."
"I'm not playing."
"You're no fun." The student pouted. "Mister Jeon will you play?" Jungkook snickered. "Eh, I have nothing to lose."
"Snog, marry kill... Miss Adams, Misses Perlay aaaannnddd Mister Kim."
"Which Kim?"
"The one you're sitting right next to."
"Well- I'll marry Miss Adams because that's the only one I can legally marry... I'll kill Misses Perlay because I don't condone cheating and then I guess I will-"
"SNOG MISTER KIM??? OOOHHHH." Taehyung closed his eyes, wanting to block this all out. "OOOHHH MISTER KIM IS BLUSHING!" Taehyung eyes shot back open. "I am not!" He snapped at the students, making them snicker. "Why're your cheeks red then?"
"We're in the summer! It's hot!" Taehyung huffed and turned back, his eyes shortly meeting Jungkook's. The man had an unreadable expression on his face, his eyes not betraying anything either.
-
"Oh thank God, I was about to barf." Jungkook exited the bus, the drive towards their stay had been bumpy.
"Okay children go make your groups! Each room fits 6 children, no boys and girls together." Taehyung announced and so the children started scrambling for rooms and potential friends to join their room. Jungkook was welcoming the volunteers while Taehyung made sure everything was going according to plan.
"Mister Kim... Where will the teachers be staying?"
"Downstairs, don't even worry about it." The student nodded and quickly ran back up to meet up with the other students. "We only have four volunteers?" Jungkook questioned. "8 children per adult is fine." Taehyung answered. "However when it's night it's only us. Hope you like small rooms and sleeplessness." Taehyung patted Jungkook's shoulder before walking upstairs to check up with the students. Jungkook stood frozen in place, he already regretted signing up as homeroom teacher.
"Have mercy on me." Jungkook muttered, heading over towards the small room they would be staying at. "Why do the children have it better than the adults? They don't know better anyway-" He complained lifting his suitcase on one of the two beds.
