Amara's POV
"That's my girl!!!" is the only thing I hear as I cross the stage for graduating medical school. After 6 long years of school I finally did it and just at the age of 22 and thankfully enough all my family was here to celebrate this momentous occasion even my godfather who is currently having a scream off with my father on who can cheer the loudest. I know what your thinking who graduates from medical school in just 6 years well me I was a try hard to finish school early as I wanted to pursue my football career which I couldn't due as I promised my parents education first and when I retired I needed to have a back up plan which for me was to be a surgeon like my mother.
I know I could've gone with a easier career to study or study business and join the family company but I wanted to continue the line of surgeons in my family and make my grandparents also my mother proud. Plus my brother was already set on taking over the family company once my father retired.
Now that I have graduated it was finally time to just focus on my football career and branch out. I was always offered deals with other clubs all over the world but turned them down due to staying committed to school and now that I've finished there's nothing in my way. With the 2019 WWC approaching in a year I decided it was time to up my game and find new competition so here I am packing my bags from my house in San Francisco to travel half way across the world for my new club in Spain.
Although I'm going to miss not seeing my National team daily as they were really my only friends. I think this is a good opportunity for me and they support my decision. Some of the girls and I were currently at my house packing up some essentials that I need to take to Spain with me as I already bought a house there. I'm just packing a few clothes and football stuff as I decided it will be easier to just buy stuff in Spain for my house if needed.
It was quite while we were packing with just the sound of music playing in the background and small conversations here and there until I heard Pinoe " Do you think I could still use your pool while you're gone". Before I even had the chance to answer Alex beat me to it "You have a pool at your house and when will you have time to fly into San Francisco we're always traveling" that caused us all to laugh as it was true. I knew I was going to miss moments like these but I wasn't backing out of my decision plus I'll be back for some National games.
If you didn't know I was always treated like the baby of the team being one of the youngest players even though I assured everyone that I was a confident and strong female but to no anvil they still protected and babied me mostly Ali and Ashlyn they were like my second parents. Pinoe and Alex were like my older sister always giving me advice and pointers while Tobin and Press were the girls I would go to for a laugh or just smile as their presence was almost always happy. The whole team played a part in my life that I will never be able to replace as a matter of a fact we're having a farewell dinner for me at one of my father restaurants that he owns tomorrow night.
Some hours later...
After a while of packing and laughing the girls finally went to sleep as they were staying at my house for one last sleepover we ordered pizzas, watched movies, and blew up inflatable mattresses in the living room so we all slept in the same room. While I was locking the doors and getting ready for bed as quietly as possible as I shared a mattress with Julie and didn't want to wake her up. I knew we had to enjoy these moments while we can so as I laid awake I thought of all the changes coming into my life.
This is what I imagine her San Francisco house to look like
