Maria: I'm outside one of my grandfather's labs right now, so that's why I'm whispering.
*lightly giggles*
Maria: Grandfather said he was going to show me one of his projects today and I'm really excited!
*gets excited*
Maria: He doesn't really let near the lab rooms because it could get dangerous for me. But I'm okay with that!
*looks at the lab door*
Maria: I don't know exactly which room it is.
*Gerald Robotnik's lab door opens*
Gerald: Maria dear? *gestures her to come inside*
Maria: *takes a deep breath* Okay.
*both walk inside*
Maria: *stops and gasps*
Gerald: *stands next to glass and smiles at Maria*
Maria: G-grandfather, w-who is that? Or, what is that? *walks to the glass*
Gerald: *sighs a little and keeps smiling* Well, my dear, this here is a type of creature. Even though it doesn't look like it.
Maria and Gerald: *laughs*
Maria: *puts one hand on the glass*

Gerald: *smiles* I can't believe I have a granddaughter like you, you're just like your parents. You have your father's intelligence, and your mother's kindness.
Maria: *smiles* Thank you! *looks at the tube* What's his name?
Gerald: Now that you mention it, I haven't thought of a name ye- (A/N: ARE YOU GUYS READY?)
Maria: I KNOW, let's call him Shadow; that's a great name!
Gerald: Hmmm, Shadow? Because of his dark body?
Maria: Well, not really? *smiles* It's a great name because... darkness is darkness, no matter where to goes... but a Shadow shows the way to the light.
Gerald: *smiles* That was amazing.
Maria: Thank you, grandfather!
Gerald: So, what do you think of him?
Maria: I like the stripes on his fur, they look sleek on him.
Gerald: Indeed they do.
Maria: *nods*
Gerald: Well then, I guess you could head over to your room now. I need to run some more tests on him, that's why he's still asleep.
Maria: Okay, then. *looks at Shadow* I can't wait to meet him!
*screen goes black*
