Rouge finds an old camera which was made a few years before ARK was built. She then gives it to Shadow and they never realized that they would be see years of amazing memories!

*screen shows Maria walking through the halls of ARK*
Maria: FINALLY, I think my cure is done! Grandfather told me to meet him in the testing department to get a blood sample from me to test the cure and see if it would work. The blood test did hurt at first, but since I'm used to it, it doesn't hurt anymore.
*before Maria could make a turn from the wall, she hears two people talking*
Person #1: I THOUGHT WE HAD A DEAL?
Maria: Huh?
Person #2: I know we did, but you need to understand that it won't be easy.
Maria: *peaks from behind the wall and sees Gerald with a mysterious alien creature* Grandfather?
Alien: THEN WHY ISN'T HE FINDING THE CHAOS EMERALDS?
Gerald: That is what I'm trying to tell you, Black Doom; he can't sense them ye!
Maria: Who is that creature? I feel like I've seen him before. *thinks for a bit* Wait, the day before Shadow woke up from his hyper sleep, I think I saw something in the reflection of the glass when I was looking at Shadow.

Maria: When I looked back, he was gone. *gasps* That was him, the alien grandfather is calling Black Doom! Well, I guess he's an alien.
Black Doom: May I remind you that you used my DNA to create Project Shadow.
Maria: *puts a hand over her mouth*
Black Doom: Shadow is on MY side, and he has the ability to sense the chaos emeralds.
Maria: Then that means... Black Doom... is Shadow's biological father. But, what are the chaos emeralds? And why does he need them?
(A/N: I'm just going to explain this right here: So, in Shadow's [ACTUAL] backstory, Gerald and Black Doom made a deal to create Project Shadow so then Shadow can help Gerald find a cure for Maria and also help Black Doom find the chaos emeralds because Shadow can sense the emeralds. Gerald later found out that Black Doom was going to wipe out the human race and conquer Earth, so he tried to make sure Black Doom doesn't find them.)
Gerald: I found out what you are trying to do with the chaos emeralds, AND I'M NOT PLANNING ON GIVING THEM TO YOU WEATHER SHADOW FINDS THEM OR NOT!
Black Doom: *grabs Gerald by his neck and throws him across the room*
Gerald: *hits the wall*
Maria: *whispers* Grandfather! *starts to cry*
