[AN: I feel that the story is a bit slow so let's pick up the pace. Previous chapter: Mew was told that Kana's disappearance was a favorite gossip among their village. Boom suggested to look for him at shelters or orphanages.]
"Just buy him pastries, he likes them." Mew said unconsciously, then bit his lip.
"See! I knew it! You like him." Third teased. "How else would you know what he likes?!"
"It was just an observation!" Mew defended.
Third grinned and shouted, "P'Gulf! P'Mew says he likes – hmphhh."
"Shit you little brat!" Mew covered his mouth, gave a nervous glance at Gulf who was picking up trash at a distance and wrestled his cousin.
As he tickled Third while rolling on the sand, he felt his phone vibrate. He called for a timeout and when he checked, it was from Uncle Tong.
"Yes, Uncle Tong?"
"Mew, are you still at the beach?"
"Yeah. Why? Do you need help?"
"Well, I'm here at Savior Hearts just outside Chon Buri."
"Savior Hearts." Mew whispered as Singto carried on with tickling Third. He walked away from them and continued. "What did you find out?"
Before he left the house earlier, he had asked Uncle Tong to help him locate and visit those orphanages that were located outside Pattaya's border to split up the task. In the morning, he went to his own chosen places, and in the afternoon, he went back for volunteer work.
"Kana was here."
"Wait for me. Send me the address." He didn't need anything anymore. As soon as he heard that, he hung up and placed the tongs and plastic bag on Singto and Third's hands.
"Take this and return it to the town's office. I need to go somewhere."
"Hey! Where are you going?!" Singto waved the tong at him.
"P'! What time are you coming back?!" Third shouted.
But he just ran and waved at them.
He drove towards the place that Tong had sent him. He didn't even clean himself. He needed to get there as soon as he can.
At least, here now is proof that Kana lived. That's one less thorn out of his throat.
Despite what he kept telling Singto, Third, Tong and Boom, at the back of his mind was overflowing worry about Kana's life. He did have thoughts that Kana might be dead, or else sold to people who exploit children. But his heart knew, his heart felt that Kana was alive, and now he has to see for himself how and where he lived after running away.
He drove for an hour. Chon Buri isn't far from Pattaya, but he wasn't familiar with this road. As he entered the street where the orphanage was located, he can see immediately that it was a place that isn't conducive for small children to live in.
The neighborhood was a bit rundown like it hadn't caught up to the rest of the city and Thailand's progress. The basketball court at one street is filled with fallen leaves and the hoop was missing its net. The local stores here looked empty. Several people walked past without greeting each other.
