All throughout their vacation at Khao Yai, they have noticed that Mew was quite subdued. He wasn't his usual energetic, and he would reply quietly to whatever they would ask him.
Their overnight stay was fun and Bright wished Gulf was with him. He and his best friend had traveled a few times together but Gulf had never been to Khao Yai.
The four of them shared a huge room. Mew and his group were a very helpful bunch. They were not snobby, but Bright could tell that there's a wall of luxury separating them.
He now understands how Gulf feels.

They went back to Pattaya the next night, and everybody was so exhausted. Singto and Third were sleeping at the back while Mew was staring outside as Bright drove.
"Are you tired? I can drive." Mew offered.
"No need. I'm good." Bright said.
"There's still time. Do you have work tonight? We can go to Hour Glass for dinner." Mew said.
"I don't have work until tomorrow night. But yeah, we can all eat there." Bright said cheerfully. Whenever they recommend to people, they get commissions.
Mew smiled and turned back to staring at the window. He spoke again. "Gulf would be there, right?"
"Yeah. That guy works there every night."
"What? Doesn't he have a day off?"
"He does. But he likes burying himself with work." Bright said. "Plus, we're both saving up so we can move to a different apartment."
Mew cricked his neck as he looked at Bright quickly. "You guys live together?"
"Since we were young."
"Are you guys related?"
"We're not. But people who aren't related are sometimes better than blood-relatives." He said meaningfully. After all, he has his own fair share of orphanage stories.
All of a sudden, the guilt he was feeling since yesterday intensified. When Uncle Tong mentioned Kana's name, his stomach churned. Kana isn't a real cousin, and he was a jerk for being so sensitive about it. One reason why he went to Thailand is to possibly meet Kana and apologize for something he had said in the past.
"Then... I hope you won't find me a bit nosy on this... Are you guys lovers?"
Bright laughed. "Everybody assumes that. What do you think?"
