Dear Selene,
Dating you sophomore year
wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.You were kind and funny.
Always sweet regarding how slow I wanted to take things.
You thought I was a gentleman for wanting to do so.
If only you knew how
wrong you were.
If only we both knew how wrong the
two of us together were. But we didn't know these things.
Because we were young and
we were stupid.
That's what makes being so young such a reckless thing.
We're blind to the reality that's staring us in the face. All I wanted to say in this letter was that we both were naïve
to think we could work.
Looking back on things now,
I know now that what we had
was comradery.
A complicated friendship, at best. It's for that reason why I can't be too mad at you for what went wrong between us.
If it wasn't for you,
I would've never found Stella.
And if I had never found Stella,
I would've never learned to be
truly happy.I'm thankful for you.
You need to know that. However, I'm not excusing you for
trying to cram me into the blue box
I did not belong in.That was wrong of you, Selene.
You need to know that.🌕
