THE NEXT MORNING, after an introduction between the four girls in Rosie's dormitory, Rosie got dressed and went downstairs to breakfast. She sat down next to Draco, but the sight that awaited her was not the one she had expected.

"I just wanted to apologize!"

"She doesn't want your apology, Potter."

"How would you know what she wants or doesn't want?"

"Because, Potter, I actually spent some time with her last night, unlike you who completely ditched her after her sorting!"

Rosie tried to intervene, "Guys-"

"Stay out of this Rosie," both boys spit. Rosie was appalled. They were talking about her and she wasn't allowed to talk to them?

"You are talking about me. I have a right to say something." At this, both boys sheepishly quieted down. "Thank you, Harry, for your apology. Draco, you aren't in a position to tell people what I want. Please, don't talk to each other like I'm not here. Respect is very important to me and if my two best friends can't respect each other or myself, I will do something bad to you." At least the boys had the decency to look as if they regretted their actions. "I want you two to at least try to get along. For me. Please."

Although the teenagers looked unsure at the idea of getting along, they didn't want Rosie to scold them further, so they apologized.

"Wonderful! Harry, McGonagall is looking for you. You should go back to your table. I'll go over with my timetable once I get it." Harry nodded and made his way over to the Gryffindor table. Rosie could see him receiving his timetable from McGonagall and looking over it with Ron and Hermione. Suddenly, she heard someone clear their throat behind her.

Rosie turned around and saw the one and only Severus Snape. "Hello Professor," she greeted brightly. "How are you doing today?" she asked while Snape handed her her timetable.

"I was doing fabulously until I saw Potter," Snape drawled.

"It pains you to see her eyes on his face, huh?" Rosie knew she had struck a nerve, but she needed Snape to know that she knew.

The sneering professor faltered."W- what?"

"Oh I know. She will come once the dementors try you. I know, Dumbledore knows, you know. You should know that I know."

Regaining his demeanor, Snape nonchalantly replied, "fascinating. That is certainly good to know."

Uh huh, yes, Snape. That is good to know. Rosie deadpanned in her mind.

Outwardly, she smiled. "Good. Now that that has been established, why don't you give Draco his timetable?" She gestured toward an eager and impatient looking Draco next to her. "Unless, you know, you would like to see your godson combust from excitement?"

"No. I would not like to see that. However," Snape leaned down to her ear. "I will figure out your secret."

Rosie blinked. "You know you can just ask me and I'd tell you? Not right now, in front of everyone, but I can tell you. Or you can ask Dumbledore. He probably has his own theories he can share with you based on what I've told him. Or not, your choice, you can suffer by trying to figure it out if you'd like. No one is stopping you."

Sneering, Snape nodded and handed Draco his timetable and moved down to the rest of Slytherin house.

Taking that as her que, Rosie quickly rose and headed over to where Harry was sitting.

"I've gotten my timetable. What's yours?"

It turned out that Harry and Rosie had the same timetable, so they headed towards Divination with Hermione and Ron.
